Obviously the show's not completely staged. But if you think that he would've brought a rookie along without discovery filming them you're out of your mind. No way he brings that greenhorn on without the show taping.

they definitely stage stuff, the trading of the Jake's back in the day was the first evidence of that. Send a greenhorn in a surival suit across to another boat in the Bering Sea. Yeah, those guys would do that without cameras. :facepalm:
But like a bad book or sub-sandwich card, I still watch. Best episode I ever saw was either the first season or the pilot. Back when the quota's were a lot higher. The Northwestern had its tanks full but still had a handfull of pots to pull. They setup a make-shift pen on their deck. Squared off with empty pots and ran a hose over the few dumps of crab that they put there. That was before they cared about the cameras, that was real.

I'm glad someone else sees the light.
It was a badass show at the beginning. All good things come to an end. I still watch it and I still enjoy it, but it's nearing it's shelf life on my dvr.
Think Keith is right with the diagnosis. Looks like severe dehydration that turned into shock. Its obviously a pretty serious situation.
