The Camera boat doesn't stay with them the entire time?! I am sure he has back ups however just harder to read or not as convenient probably. I highly doubt they "staged" an airlift. If they did, then that is the biggest cover up in the history of airlifts I guess.

Yeah...they "staged" the depth finder going out in weather like that. And the "camera boat" ain't fucking happy they were stuck in that weather. Grow up people:nono:

The hurricane was staged. The engine going out was staged. The airlift was staged. In fact all the crabs are not crabs at all. They are mini plastic robots that are programmed to crawl into crab pots.:mj07:

Well, taking the 5 year old route is one way to go if you've got nothing else.
Situations are created to enhance the show so it's not the same thing over and over. For example, when the guys transferred boats many seasons back...for no good reason other than to do it. No way in hell that goes down without the cameras rolling. Of this type of show this one is the least 'staged' because of the unpredictability of the Bering Sea but without a doubt the show sets up certain scenarios that will give them a storyline. Like...bringing on a greenhorn who had never been on an airplane. Kick you're a long time fan. Do you truly, honestly think Keith, of all captains, would bring on someone with that background unless the show was taping? If you answer yes to that then I guess there's no need to go further. But look what it got them. 2 episodes of Keith going off about how much he sucks and an airlift. Since I know you will now follow with ridiculousness, no, the airlift was not planned. But bringing on a kid that unfit for the job increases the chances of shooting show-worthy tape. If they just hired grizzly veterans the show would end because they would grind it out without many hiccups along the way.
