It's like the sub-card from the Seinfeld episode. I've put in all this time and I fear that as soon as i stop watching it will become worth watching again.


Kick - anything good from the After the Catch shows? I didn't have those setup to DVR and looks like I've missed a couple.

And regarding saint's back and forth about it being staged, there are some things like the swapping of Jake's a few seasons ago that are done for the cameras, but the recent green horn of the Wizard wasn't likely. I believe Keith's reputation for being hard on crew and greenhorn's is well known and he likely had to go to an extreme (unknown greenhorn) measure. Doesn't take away from the fact that Keith is an idiot for taking on a guy like that. They were setting themselves up for trouble.

Actually, we keep watching with the hopes that Keith falls overboard and is consumed by a freakishly huge killer whale.

IMO, while we still find the show to be better than 90% of the other garbage on the tube, it hasn't been nearly as good since the death of Phil.

I enjoy watching the show & have a great respect for what these guys go through. They earn every nickle while risking their life to fish.

Growing up, my Step Father was a Captain of a 110 ft Commercial Fishing Trawler out of Boston. During Feb. School Vacation I made a week long trip fishing the George's Banks, ended up being the Blizzard of '78, we had gusts of over 110 mph as we rode out the storm. I was paid shack money (lobsters) made about $700 and the crew wasn't happy having me around cutting into their share.

The next summer '79 I made my second trip at the end of the summer, wound up in a Hurricane with 100+ mph winds. Shack money was about $1,000 that trip. Never stepped foot on a Commercial Boat again...........Will say this, those boys eat very well :0008

Keith is definitely a hard ass. Ran into him a couple years ago at the Omaha airport, he was returning a rental car while we were getting one. Recognized him, said hi and shook his hand real quick and said I was a fan of the show. He was short and gruff, but he was also with his son, said they were in town for a little league tournament.

She was done with him before he walked in the door. She also had a freshly fucked glow about her if you look. I think Sancho was shoveling the back walk while he was at sea a lot longer than Elliot wants to know. I don't know about Elliot though. He sure has a lot of disgruntled homies.
Jake Harris has a nice friggin place up there. Housing must be cheap in Homer or wherever the hell that was. I don't think it was Seattle.
I was surprised to see Sig living in Seattle too.
The Harris brothers should try to steal Jake Anderson as a Deck Boss.

True, and sometimes itis hard to feel bad for Elliot as he brought much of it on himself.

What I am saying about the Harris brothers is that they are going to make a run at getting the Cornelia Marie back. If that is the case, it is a very big boat and while I think Josh could be a Captain, I don't think Edgar is ready to give up Deckboss on the Northwestern so he can cut his teeth on the Cornelia

Agree that Anderson knows more than the two Harris boys combined, and that's nothing against Josh who I like.

The Harris brothers would be better suited to have Edgar captain their boat. Edgar wants to get off of deck due to his time served as well as his back. Sig looks nowhere near ready to hang up the reigns. That would also allow Jake Anderson to be the deck boss on the Northwestern.

I'm guessing the house they showed for Jake Harris was his dad's that he inherited.

Regarding Elliot Neese, on the After the Catch show he stated that his ex-girl has sole custody of his kids and he has only seen them twice since Christmas. He must have messed up someting along the way for that to happen.

I don't know how any mother could keep your own kids away from their father like that chick is doing to Elliot Neese. Clearly he fucked up, but nobody deserves what Elliot Neese is being put through.
