does Cleveland State have anything this year? Carolina was putrid the other night. While they have some talent it is going to take awhile. CSU had last year's team in trouble for quite awhile.

csu has one of the top 5 players in the conference (raheem moss) and he can single-handedly keep them in the game if he is hot from the outside. was actually listening to the coaches show in the car a couple hours ago. garland was displeased with the 22 turnovers vs florida a+m in their opener. suffice to say, that has to change if theyre going to stay within the number tomorrow. but he also said that they are confident because 2 years ago csu damn near beat carolina in cleveland and then last year they played very well for one half before getting blown away in the 2nd half. csu is really jekyl and hyde. theyll be a much improved team in the horizon this year. but theyll still have their typical clunkers. theyve definitely been competitve against much better carolina teams than this one. but they have to get better production from gansey and their other perimeter guys tomorrow. moss cant do it alone. if line hits 20+, gotta give csu consideration.

Sun it was 2 years ago that CSU had us on the ropes, last year carolina won 107-64.

Gman I wouldn't exactly call being down 55-38 last year at the end of half playing well.

With that said I was hoping to (and still may) make a play on csu. Heels are just weak overall but especially at the point, they are small and will have troubing grabbing boards this year. I was hoping for something in the 20s but still may play it where it's at. Carolina let GW shoot 50% which only happened 2 times last year. Looks like roy has them running but the defense is not there yet and won't be tomorrow.

Didn't CSU lose 3 starters?? I thought they were projected 6th in their conference. Not much to write home about either.

cleveland state was within 8 or so until the final media timeout of the half, or thereabouts, before carolina hit them with a late 1h run and then blew them out in the 2nd half. i think at some point it was 38-30 with 5:00 to go or so. some teams come into acc gyms and are down 24-6 before the 2nd media timeout. csu at least did a good job of keeping it close for most of the 1h.

cleveland state started a lot of different combinations last year so its hard to say how many "starters" are gone. they lost omari westley, who was immensely talented but never seemed to want to be part of the team (and ultimately, he was suspended for the final few games of last season and the horizon tourney). but they bring back moss, gansey, and mcgee. they're a middle-of-the-road horizon team. program is definitely headed in the right direction but its gonna take time. moss is kid that won't be intimidated by carolina tomorrow. but i just fear an abundance of turnovers. it seems csu wilts under even token full court pressure, and 22 turnovers against florida a+m at home is alarming. but if they get into their sets, they can hang in there.

regardless, this will be a good experience for csu and help them immensely. and on the carolina side, im eager to see hansbrough (sp?) play.

You have a key # it has to hit before playing it? I'm hoping to see 20 and I think i would play it if it does.

I remember leaving the UNC opener in 01 saying there is no way they win 10. Well, this season isn't going to be THAT bad, but it's going to be bad. I'll take the 19 here gladly. Point guard is a very bad situation right now for the Heels who are lacking confidence. Freshman are waiting for ferry dust to be spread on them on their way to the final four. It's going to take time to get this group up to speed.
