I am cheap but lazy. Don't want the maintenance of a wood deck, but don't want to spend the cash on composite decking. However, looking for opinions to sway me one way or another. Thanks in advance.

yupyup - composite decks are being taken to the cleaners as of late. (yea, witty pun)

Mold issues are popping up all over. As are chipping, breaking, and abnormal wear and tear.

lots of companies folding. Yes, they all had warranties on the composite material. Yes, they are all fighting the warranty saying the homeowner didn't properly clean and maintain the deck and the warranty is voided.

Stamped concrete :toast:

A buddy and I did a stamped, colored concrete walkout on my house last fall. I was quoted 7600 to have it done and I was able to do it myself for ~3400 (fairly large - over 1000 sq ft).

We love it - other than power washing and re-sealing every few years, should be no other maintenance required
