typical gun advocate stance going over the top comparing something else. be blind to the fact that this moron is shooting guns out his windows, but blame it on him being able to drive.
"lets outlaw oxygen too cause then bad guys wouldnt be able to live and function!"
we should outlaw schools because then there would be no school shootings, yes?
outlaw movies and malls so there are no shootings there as well, yes?
i love how every gun advocate thinks since they own a gun, they'd be Walker Texas Ranger in the event of some thug shooting everyone up with an assault rifle.
If guns kill people, then... Pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat.

Okay, I would say that Ron Gotti or whatever the hell his name is has a some type of personality disorder and is certainly a social misfit. None of that is due to gun ownership. He didn't buy a gun and decide he was crazy. Just because people misuse weapons and abuse the laws of the land doesn't mean that it is the gun's fault.
The fact of the matte is that outlawing weapon sales is not pragmatic nor will it ever happen. I think it would be fair to assume the he knew that he was breaking the law, so he would have done that no matter if the gun was obtained legally or illegally. A gun is a weapon that can be used for hunting as well as self defense, then again so can crossbows.
Drugs have been illegal for years, how are those laws doing to stem the tide of drug use in society?
It isn't the guns or the drugs doing the killing, its the people in possession of them.
I don't have a gun and don't really feel comfortable around them but I think they do need to be legal.
If you take drugs as an example. There against the law but you still have people that want to do them and can get them anytime they want. Being against the law IMO hasn't even curbed the use of illegal drugs and probably sets up other bad things that go along with it being illegal. People who don't do drugs aren't trying to get them so it doesn't matter.
Guns on the other hand- You have bad people that get them and use them for bad things. These people would get guns no matter what just like people get drugs. The problem is that if they're illegal then someone like my 64 year old mother wouldn't get one because she's not the type of person to do something that's against the law. As it is now she has one and keeps it in her bed side table for protection. It makes me feel some what comfortable knowing she can and will protect herself. If her alarm goes off now, she reaches straight for the drawer and the gun. Make them illegal and she would get rid of it but then how would she protect herself?
Good luck airportis - gun advocates will never actually consider the other side of the issue, similar to most political issues where people think they are right.
they don't need to be made completely illegal but tightening the rules on owning one could keep some out of the hands of criminals.

the argument of "bad people will do bad things and get them anyway" is ridiculous. why have any laws or restrictions on anything? bad people will do bad things and break these laws anyway or get what they want, so why have them?

as a human race it sometimes becomes necessary to take extreme measures to protect those inhabitants..
That time has arrived.
How human we are and what extreme measures the powers that be are willing to take will decide the future course of these senseless killings.
believe it ..at some point in this[USA] countries future guns and ammo ain't going to be stockpiled in gun safes and hidden in the bedroom closet.
Eventually the mothers and fathers of these slain children will demand and end this practice of hoarding aresenal.
this you can bet your last friggin' dime on..
then they`ll have to amend the constitution...and the only ones with guns will be the government....and the criminals...
i`m actually anxious to see that day...i hope i live that long....i want to see the hell that breaks loose in this country when the government finally overreaches and tries to confiscate the guns of law abiding, tax paying citizens.......
it won`t be pretty....
did i miss something....didnt the article state that he crawled thru a doggie door of his uncles house to steal the guns?
but is a shining example of why we need to ban, outlaw or make tougher gun laws???
