On a related note, since you maintain we should listen to the commanders on the ground in Iraq to form policy (as I mentioned in the other thread) what do you make of the Pentagon superceding their commentary that troops will and should be pulled out if things do not improve with the surge and saying the surge could go on indefinitely (which was my point all along) if things don't improve? And why is the surge only partly manned at this point with approximately half of the planned troops on the ground there? Is this a gentle wavy kind of surge? Shouldn't the surge be more of the shock and awe that this administration is famous for?

I have not checked up on your post here, but I will, to see the context and how all this was put forth. But I ask you what would be worse...not meeting a leader due to scheduling conflicts, or disregarding the points made by the leader during a meeting that you attend, and doing whatever the Hell you planned on doing all along?
