ecu -1: we made a nice hit on saturday fading the pirates on the c-usa road after discovering leading scorer derrick missed the team flight to st louis, electing to remain with his family after the death of an uncle. wiley returns tonight in greenville and, while the pirates are winless in conference road games since joining c-usa, they are 8-5 against conference opponents in minges coliseum, and 8-3 overall at home this season. depaul is playing back to back road games after picking up just their second road win of the year saturday, an overtime nailbiter in hattiesburg. good spot for the pirates to be hosting a fading depaul team in the middle of a tough southern swing. getting the play essentially straight up seems to me to be a bonus.

yup, agree loop, looks like a good spot for them tonight.
-------------

how about tcu being shorthanded tonight??

-------------
TCU senior forward Jamal Brown and redshirt freshman post Brian Carter have been suspended for tonight's game against UAB for a violation of team rules, coach Neil Dougherty said Monday.

Brown has started in 12 of 22 games this season for the Frogs and averages 9.2 points and a team-leading 8.6 rebounds per game. Carter has seen limited action in 16 games this season.

The Frogs have struggled through the Conference USA season. At 2-9 (8-15 overall), the Frogs have the worst record in the league and may not make the C-USA Tournament in mid-March.

And there may be another loss. Senior forward Bingo Merriex is questionable with a left foot injury. Trainer Chris Hall said Merriex is suffering from an infection and the team will re-evaluate his injury this morning.

Merriex has started in 18 of 22 games and is averaging 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

DePaul is 36th in the RPI right now and a loss here would really kill the RPI. An at-large bid is a possibility and I see them being very focused here against a team that's on a horrific ATS run. Considering DePaul was rated around 200th last year, Leitao has to merit some consideration for Coach of the Year if they do get an at-large bid.

good points, valuist, but most of ecu's ats woes have been on the road, where they are traditionally very weak. they play a much more confident style of game at home and have been getting good crowd support this year. anyway, ats shouldn't play much of a role in tonight's outcome.

think the massey #s for these two teams, #51 and #129, are a little more realistic than rpi, really see a lot of similarities between these two teams in terms of how they perform at home vs on the road. i don't see anything in depaul's resume thus far that makes me think they can put forth a focused effort in their second conference road game in 48 hours. g/l tonight whatever you decide.

I was just about to post a topic asking someone to talk me out of an E.Car play. But there's just something about the appeal of E.Car I think I've got to stick with them. Although DePaul is an overall better FT shooting team, they slide a bit on the road and E.Car shoots much better at home from the charity mark. And correct me if I'm wrong, but E.Car should hold the advantage in the boards tonight also. FT's and RB's should play a major role in this one tonight, I think the oddsmakers have the # right, @ 1, and I look for a close game ballgame til the end.

I also like the looks of UAB despite their 0-3 road mark the L3, they are 5-3 ATS away this season, and the home team in this series is only 1-4 ATS, (looks like you can throw the ole homecourt advantage out when these 2 get together). Couple that with the suspensions and you should have a pretty easy win for UAB IMO. GL2ALL

looking elsewhere in c-usa, besides my ecu and tulane plays i think i've got to give houston a go. neither one of these teams is very good, but so miss hasn't won a c-usa road game in two years, and this game is virtually a pickem? can't see why.

also, hawkeye, if you're out there, in the socon i'm a wofford player tonight also. if appy state expects to waltz into spartanburg and just gun it up with no d, as has been their inclination lately, i expect them to go down. wofford has some pretty decent shooters themselves, and do make an effort at playing defense.

What about this loophole??

FLA ST. at NC ST. (-7 ?): The Wolfpack has come away with the cash in four of their last five against FSU, overall, and five of the last six at home. North Carolina State is 7-0 ATS at Raleigh against teams with a winning record. They have clicked in 21 of their last 27 as home chalk and in eight of 10 when favored by 6 ? to 12 points. The Seminoles have cashed in eight of 10 as road dogs this season.

NCSt -7' is the play to mE!
