I totally agree. Everyone claims that have a great D. Team that
play against them just can't shoot. Det is shooting a woefull 38%
LOL, everyon says they are the team to beat. This team
sucks. Will be fortunate to beat Mia.

I'm thinking the same thing. Give SA or Dallas all these open looks
any you will get ur ASS beat by more than 10, in fact the game would have been over a long time ago.

dallas and phoenix are both overmatched by detroit.
the last thing ill ever be accused of is an 'after the fact' gambler but you had to see this clunker coming from detroit. the pistons were taken to 7 games by cleveland while miami sat around and waited. the pistons are still far and away the best team in the nba. this kind of thread goes to show how fickle some people are. its one game.

Gman, I respect your opinion, but sometimes I think you just don't
watch the games, WATCH THE GAMES!!!!. Det been playing like crap in most of their games. Not just this one. Even in the Clev series, both Det and Clev had wide open shots that they couldn't knock down.

note to self: watch games.
i knew i was forgetting to do something before capping. :banghead:

i love the mavericks, but they are still a very suspect defensive team that cant get consistent stops when it counts. the mavs should have finished san antonio off in 5 games, but because their defense is so inconsistent, it took them 7 games and they still almost blew it.

gman, i have to disagree with you when saying detroit overmatches both phoenix and dallas? maybe phoenix, but no way the mav's. this years team can play defense as well.
if it were the spurs and pistons, the spurs would win hands down.
i see mavericks and heat in the finals, just think its dallas's year

just in case anyone hasnt noticed the obvious
Detroit's inability to score seems to be their achilles heel
Just as when its hot you turn the AC. for those who cant comprehend.

gman did watch this game-who gives a shit about going a 7 game series-this is the playoffs BABY-every team is TIRED!!!!The best TEAMS in the NBA are Dallas and San Antonio. The CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES was already played and the MAVS WON!!!!! I have not been impressed with Detroit in the Clev. series and they surely laid an egg tonight. Wake up an smell the coffee!!!CAPPERS my A$$$- Play the game & learn the game first!!!!

i just dont get why people are so sold on dallas as being a great defensive team. ive loved the mavericks for years -- nowitzki one of the guys whom i have all kinds of respect for -- but they didnt exactly show me great defense in the spurs series. they had PLENTY of fundamental breakdowns that go to show they stlill have a ways to go before they are a 'defensive' team. their rotations are still mediocre and they made a slow san antonio team look uptempo at times. mavs are good. in fact, very good. but theyre still outclassed by detroit.

jerseydrifter, certainly not going to get into a pissing match with you because this is all in good fun and debate -- we're all entitled to opinions and i respect yours, but if you want to talk basketball 101 and breakdown the game itself, then i'll gladly put my acumen up against anybody's. i'll just respectfully disagree that dallas is in detroit's league.

Everyone claims Dallas can't play D, LOL. They shut down the highest scoring them (Memphis). Avery knew he couldn't beat
SA in the half game so he went with a all out run and gun game.
For sure, the series with Pho will tell the tale on Dallas. If they can't play D, then they will get beat.

well if detroit is the class of the nba,i will tell you this much, give the cav's one more year under there belt and see who wins the east next year. im not at all imprressed by this piston team down the stretch, they play at times ex: game #1 and game # 7 in cleveland series.
im just not sold on saunders, he was handed down a great team, but is he really a good coach? motivator? i dont think so.

if the pistons do make the finals and play the mav's ,my money is on dallas and big!!!
