TOny Parker struggles mightily vs bigger, more physical point guards that can score
guys like Billups, Marbury, Baron Davis..etc
Tony P will be neutralized and posted up by the larger Billups
note TP is listed at 6-2 180, but in reality he is 6-0 175
Billups is 6-3 and 200+, big advantage Detroit

Backcourt Advantage Detroit(Billups/Hamilton/Gino/Parker) medium
FrontCourt Advantage(Wallaces/Duncan) Spurs slight
Coaching even Brown/Poopovich
Bench Spurs slightly
INtangibles _Detroit(Tayshaun) (been there and when crunchtime is now isnt a better team making stops)

Boils down to
who controls the glass (there will be plenty of missed shots) especialy offensive rebounds, expect a low shooting % for both teams.

"Coaching even Brown/Poopovich"

i disagree here gravy. if it came down to the final 3 minutes in game 7, larry brown would win the coaching battle against popovich without a doubt. dont get me wrong, pop is good, but larry is wayyyy better.

the only tuff PG TP has faced yet in playoffs was andre miller and he went 16/46 in first 3 games then finished at 45% for series (getting rolling right before OT in game 4)...

as far as the head-to-head games this year, here's what I found ...

Game one @ Spurs

TP 9/16 for 20 pts. in spurs 80-77 win
CB 5/9 for 18 pts--4/4 treys

Nesto was starting, played 27 mins, Nazr not on team yet--as most of you might know, I hate Nesto and have called it horrible trade from get go ... Nazr makes Spurs MUCH tougher (he's shooting 62% in last 9 playoff games)...

Rasheed 5/18 in this game, too ... Deet had 48 pts end of 3q, and closed with 29-17 4q

game two @ Deet, who won 110-101

TP 6/14 ... 12 pts
CB 8/12 ... 25 pts.

Nesto plays 35 mins, starting ... TD turns ankle big time ....

Im def. with the mindset that IF CB can turn off TP's faucet then Deet has great shot in series ... However, I just can't get past fact that Pistons bigs as a trio are really 'mediocre' at best offensively ... I dont see ben or Dice stepping up--Rasheed will have to provide at least 4 big games if Deet has any shot.

You may be right, Billups may dominate Parker, but
I will be very surprised if he does! I view the matchup as even! However it must be said that I only watch playoffs in the NBA. I will certainly give it up to you if Billups is clearly the better player!
