From here and there:

Coach Scotty Bowman said he didn't know what move would be made to open a roster spot for Yzerman, but that his return wouldn't affect Sergei Fedorov's line with Brendan Shanahan and Draper, nor Pavel Datsyuk's with Boyd Devereaux and Brett Hull.

Two consecutive outstanding defensive efforts have put the Red Wings first in yet another category.
Led by goaltender Dominik Hasek, the Wings have given up two goals the past two games, good enough to grab the best goals-against average in the NHL away from the Colorado Avalanche. The Wings have a 2.09 average to Colorado's 2.10. The Wings already have the best record and score a league-high 3.14 goals per game. Tonight they go up against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have the worst record in the league.
The Wings beat both opponents, 3-1, doing so by greatly limiting scoring chances, and doing so without one of their top defensive forwards, captain Steve Yzerman. He watched both games from the sidelines while recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
Bombardir's absence left the Wild with only six healthy defensemen. Filip Kuba is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks because of a fractured right hand. He was hit by a slapshot against the N.Y. Islanders on Sunday and is wearing a soft cast.
"This will be a reality check," defenseman Willie Mitchell said. "Collectively as a group, we have to pick up our game a little bit. Obviously, those guys are very important to our team. Maybe this will give some guys an opportunity to step in and play some more."
The Blue Jackets were 27th in the NHL in power-play efficiency at 13.3 percent.
Marc Denis, Blue Jackets: Made 31 saves, including several spectacular ones and was the third star in last game against colombus
This is the final game before the Olympic break. . . . The Wild returns to action Feb. 27 at Anaheim. . . . The Wild is 2-7-1-0 on the second night of back-to-backs this season. . . . The Wild will be without two top defensemen -- Filip Kuba (broken hand) and Brad Bombardir (sore ankle). . . . This is the fourth and final meeting between the teams. The Wild is 0-2-1-0, but had one of its better performances of the season in a 3-3 tie at home on Dec. 26.
The Red Wings already have 88 points -- 14 more than Philadelphia, which has the NHL's second-best record. Detroit has the league's third-best power play (20.1 percent) and fourth-best penalty-killing unit (87.2 percent).

Frogy-

good luck on this one- this is a tough one for me-

Detroit sometimes sleepwalks through games like these where they should win but with the break coming up they might make it a point to go into the break on a good note-

The only reason why I don't like Minn + 1 1/2 is the juice, if the juice was lower I think it would be a great play.

good luck buddy-

frogy i was contemplating minn +1.5 today and while i still think it might hit, i am reluctant b/c i just see this coming down to empty net time. i think getting 1.5 at home is the better side and especially getting 1.5 in an arena where there is actually fan support and some noise. however min w/o kuba and bombardir leads me to believe det will be up 1 with under a minute and i just dont want my bet to come down to that. good luck with whatever you decide--
