I was wondering that myself. I remember about a month ago Pujols brought in Acevedo for the ninth when Bernero was cruising against Atlanta and when Acevedo blew the save he received a lot of criticism. Maybe he wanted to try things the other way tonight. I wonder if Acevedo had some kind of injury that wasn't publicized. I'll have to check the Free Press tomorrow to check that out.

Detroit coaching staff is killing Redman's arm. I know the pitch count theory gets overblown a bit, but my god, they are letting Redman, who had arm problems last season, throw well over 100 pitches almost every start. The LEAST amout of pitches he has throw was in his first start...93 pitches and that was in only 4 innings of work.

This is getting close to Jim Leyland/Livan Hernandez territory.
