Detroit's decline is a distinctively capitalist failure

This is stupid on many levels:

1) The company's owners are the shareholders...they are in business to make a profit.

2) If they make poor decisions and lousy cars, the marketplace will let them know.

3) If the market doesn't want their cars, they go out of business unless the government bails them out with tax dollars.

4) The auto industry built Detroit and the city let the auto industry take them down. They deserve their fate.

5) All of the stakeholders in the business prosper when the business does well...when it doesn't all suffer proportionately.

Not sure if you are on the side of the greedy, overpaid auto workers and unions or the stupid, inept management team but, either way...they got millions of our tax dollars to continue on exactly the same path and, most likely, now the government will dump more millions into a temporary fix for a dying city that was slowly killed by corruption and incompetence.

If capitalism was at work in Detroit, the Big Three or some of them, would have gone bankrupt.
THAT is how REAL capitalism works.
