On kind of a seperate note.
Not sure how many of you saw the movie Boondock Saints which came out about 10 years ago.
Good movie.

There is a sequel to it in the theatres right now called Boondock Saints II:All Saints Day.

The origianl movie got tied up in the courts for years and the rights to the sequel were involved in it. This movie has been ready to make for the last 6 years but could not be made until the settlement.

I went it and saw it and if you liked the first then you will like the sequel.

The tie in to Dexter is Julie Benz(Rita on Dexter) plays the role of the FBI agent that Dafoe played in the first one.

Worth going to see if it is playing near you.

enjoyable seaon, but I think the first 3 were all better. I didn't realize until yesterday that Dexter and sis are married in real life.

Man what a twist at the end. I wondered how the reporter tied into Trinity. For me this was the best episode of the season.

What a great ending!

I figured they couldn't go into another year with him chasing a serial killer or getting nearly caught by a co-worker. The door is open now for him to go on a fucking rampage.

when's he gonna find time to hack some turd up now?

I liked the ending. I didn't think it was great. I'd like to have a season when he is on the run. I understand he is a vigilante killer but there are just too many serial killers running through Miami. Major ones. I know it's a show but we need him to be on the defensive which he clearly was in this one episode for about half of it. I'd love a whole season like that.

I don't want this show to drag like sometimes it does. I understand that great writing is hard to come by.

Rita dying is sad but the whole last two seasons her role has been to nag and nurture him. There was no character development with her at all. So I'm fine with it. Did I expect it? Not at all.

I think its funny how the FBI steps in the minute they put a face and name to the killers. Like the family will most likely never be interviewed by the Miami homicide and never see Dexter (Kyle) at work.

The real thing that freaks me out is Debra is married to Dexter in real life.

Mad props to John L. I liked him a lot better then Jimmy Smitts.

p.s. when this show started it was hard for me to program Michael C. Hall being a masculine serial killer after playing a very gay funeral director in Six Feet Under but he is amazing.

Some serious Spoilers in this thread with no alerts.

I just watched today so I am glad I just got around to this thread just now.

Sean Patrick Flannery who was in Boondock Saints II with Julie Benz said she was not going to be back next season when someone asked him at the Showing here in Houston if he might be on Dexter in the future. That was over a month ago so I guess she told him that she was off the show soon.

Saw this program available on netflix and remember this thread. Have watched 1st 9 episodes from season 1 and rate show a 7 on 1 to 10.

I think they made poor choice for actor--
IMO someone with a Morgan Freeman type personality would have been much better--

I think I appreciated Michael Hall so much after watching Six Feet Under for how many years that show was on HBO. He went from a gay, weak character to a serial killer which is really hard to grasp for an audience so used to seeing him on a weekly basis.

If you watch any seasons you must watch 1 and 4.

I think Michael Hall is great in the role. I think using somebody like Freeman would ruin it because you'd always be like "how come they can't see it?" whereas Hall is more of an every man that plays the meager everyman lifestyle well.

Just getting ready to load season 2. ! just ended with sister on boat and Dexter knows boyfrirend is iceman.

Garry I just think he shows an awful lot of emotion for supposedly not having none. It does have a lot o great supporting roles. I like the lieutenant--like the character of stepfather.

All the seasons are good including the one you're getting ready to watch. I think season 3 was the weakest.

PS sent your check out Wednesday. Thanks for that!
