I am virtually smoke free for the last six weeks. Twice during that time, I lit up only to put it out after about three drags. Both times it was when I was drinking and both times it tasted like shit. I'm done!

Man, only a couple is disappointing with all the hype and support others were giving. Congrats to the two of you. It really must be a tough nut to crack, I've never smoked, so I wouldn't know. Hope you guys make it at some time. Just buried my Dad 2 years ago at 61 yrs too young. GL

I quit dipping January 1st and haven't touched the stuff since. Very very tough first couple of months, especially with fball and alcohol around, but now I feel like I am free from it. I'm getting to spend my money elsewhere now. JP

While it doesn't count as quitting, I've cut down drastically on my intake. I was around 3/4 of a pack to a pack a day. The only times I've had any since have been four or five times out at bars with friends. I'd rather be completely free, but the difference has been very noticable to me (which is really all that matters), in my breathing, how I feel in the mornings, and financially.

Anyone who can tough it out till its done deserves a great deal of credit...............cuz its a bitch.......
I smoked for 40 + years and I would not trade how I feel today for
nicotine, tar, arsenic, fermaldahyde....etc. although I would like a smoke once in a while. (no way would I take one)
They (Big tobacco) know they got ya...and their products are designed and manufactured to keep ya.
When I quit ...I got mad as hell and...it was me vs. them
I had the support of the guys here and I got lucky with the right (angry) mindset. It worked for me and has for 5 years now!
BIG CONGRATS to Watrdogg, Judge, IE (stay strong IE) and ALL who got a start......You'll get em next time now that you know how tough it is..I wish you all success at this!!!!! Once its done you'll know why...

I screwed up after 3 days... However I'm dealing with a 16 yr. old daughter who thinks she 28, a livein girlfriend who's going thru some of the most intense shit any one could go through, and, being a person, who, in his 46 years of life, has NEVER bought a carton of cigarettes, in his life.
I'm embarrased that I could'nt quit, however, it sure makes me have hope that my MJ friends even brought up this attempt and I hope to be ready the next time we try again! Good job to all those that were strong enough to do it :hail Dave.
