Let me start by saying I am a big Texas fan so not really dumping on Mack Brown but would someone try to explain his thoughts on this one.
Texas trails 27-6 with 2:32 left and all 3 timeouts and scores a touchdown to go down 27-12 and Mack Brown starts doing math in his head or something. :mj15: Failed and now trails 27-12 instead of 27-13.
I know the odds on getting 1 onside kick are not good much less scoring a touchdown getting yet another onside kick and scoring another touchdown in 2:30 minutes, but WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU EVEN THINK OF GOING FOR TWO THERE?
Is there any valid point to be down 13 instead of 14 while missing leaves you down 15 and needing an actual 2 point conversion.
This is not the first time he has done this type of math. He did it at UCF a few years ago when they scored to go up 11 he went for two in the 4thQ to try and get up 13 instead of 12 which made NO sense.
