after that defensive performance on horry that cost det the game, i think he packs light for this trip and leaves the gold belt at home. what a boneheaded play for the ex-unc player at the end. at unc in his 2 or 3 years there i guess he had to take math, but when you are up by 2 you do not give up an open three with 5 seconds in the game.

Especially Horry, especially the in bounds man.

Have to believe that Brtown told them in the huddle "DONT LET HORRY GET A LOOK AT THE BASKET"

What a melt down.

Spurs easy in game 6.

I love Carolina basketball, but there are a handful of players that I don't necessarily care for. I remember when Wallace, McInnis, and Stackhouse came in. Those 3 I didn't really like, although sort of got where I liked Stack. They came in and messed up team chemistry on a really deep team that had just won the nat'l championship.
I think Dean had promised them all playing time or something and it ended up hurting them that year.
Rasheed has matured somewhat, but overall I don't really like him.

The play last night looked a lot like the '93 finals where the Suns doubled down and left Paxson wide open for 3. I loved those '93 Suns and still can't figure out why they gambled like that.

I have trouble believing that Larry Brown, one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time, said in the huddle "Hey guys, don't hesitate to leave Horry open so that we can double team Ginobili in the corner."

:wtf:

Pistons up 2 with something like 9 sec. left and Spurs ball. Pistons can only lose game if Spurs make 3pt shot, otherwise they win or go into OT if Spurs make 2pt shot.

Rasheed Wallace decides to leave Horry wide open behind arc to double GINO in corner behind arc.

*Horry all time NBA Finals 3pt shot leader!
*Horry who was 4-5 behind the arc in 2h.
*Horry who was dominating the 4th and OT.
*Horry who is a proven veteran who makes clutch shots, especially wide open clutch shots.
*Horry has 5 NBA Rings with $hit load of experience.

How much more data does R. Wallace need so he respects Horry enough to cover him? It would be stupid to leave BRENT BARRY open for 3pt shot, but how stupid can you be to leave ROBERT HORRY for go ahead 3pt shot.

Exactly. Don't think too many people believed Larry but it's good to know your coach will cover for you when you screw up like that. Don't think we'll see Horry wide open for those threes tomorrow night.

Thought I'd take a look at what Pinnacle is posting for Horry tomorrow.

Total 3 pt field goals made by Horry
Over 1.5 +120
Under 1.5 -136

I took the under. Be surprised if 'Sheed & company even lets him get off any attempts.

rasheed is one of the reasons dean left coaching in my opinion. he got tired of the attiitude that was starting to surface with alot of these guys. another statistic from last night that i find interesting is sheed did not shoot any free throws. it seems that he and webber have decided to be perimeter players and it has hurt both teams. ben wallace is too great of a player to have to count on sheed. give me big ben any day over rasheed.

I found it kind of ironic because I've seen at least a couple times in the playoffs...after Rasheed hits a 3-pointer, you can read his lips. He says "DON'T LEAVE ME, DON'T LEAVE ME"

rasheed is a lazy sack of $hit. he did not cover horry at all - every time horry got a clean look in the 4th rasheed was playing off of him. total crap as the refs were not calling fouls for the ball handlers so there was no reason whatsoever to trap and give up the 3. you can only lose on a 3 - unbelievable. not really sheed is a dumbass anyway. det did not deserve to win, but i wanted them to to cover my bet. :cursin:

billups/hamilton played 1 on 1 there last 5 possessions. furthermore, hamilton looked like crap all night anyway. oh well.

Good point. I think R. Wallace has calmed down dramatically in Detroit. I have not seen to many "costly" TF's but you brought up good point and I agree with you.
