All of these people are idiots. I heard on the news this morning that the two guys from the "Bachelors" each broke up with their "fiancees", even though the whole premise of the show was that they are supposed to get married at the end.
And now one of the finalists (the slutty blonde one that went down on him in the forest on the episode of like 2 weeks ago?) from "Joe Millionaire" apparently did some soft core bondage work on video and pictures. Anyone else think that guy looks like a Neanderthal? I don't care how much money that dude has, he has enough hair on his body to start his own hair transplant clinic and put rogaine out of business.

Not to knock PBS but... how can anyone watch THAT crap? Do you really sit around watching 4 hours of repetative Josh Groban concerts, with 3 hours of that hawking his cd's and dvd's for a "$300 membership"?

Actually, I prefer Masterpiece Theatre, Antiques Roadshow and Rick Steves Europe. Prefer the Batchlorette huh? And they say were near the end of western civilization.
Wasn't Colligula on the Roman version of Survivor about 450 AD? Keep it up kids, lets really numb (and dumb) up!!!

Eddie: So in your opinion, anyone who watches reality shows are lacking in culture and intelligence? Just because people like myself or anyone else who watches reality shows get enjoyment out of it doesn't mean that we're knuckle-dragging neanderthals who can't appreciate anything "intellectual."
I don't watch Masterpiece Theatre, Antiques Roadshow or anything of the sort, but I do enjoy reading Plath poetry, Mamet plays, and checking out the Met a couple times a year. That doesn't mean that should prevent me from enjoying less "cultural" shows such as the Real World All Star Challenge, or American Idol.
"Dumbing down" is relative, and isn't based on the show, it's based on the person watching the show.

It's trash TV. They are all stupid. I wish I had invested. Look at the ratings. These "reality shows" have low production cost (free actors) and great ratings. The worst part is people talk about them. They are the watercooler talk.
As stupid as they are...they make thier producers a lot of money and people religiously watch them. They are like smokers, except instead of clouding their lungs they are clouding their brains.

you call the recnent reality craze "trash tv" and it is no doubt about it, but what on tv isnt trash these days?
Everything on tv is bad...bad...bad you get local news stations covering a high speed chase and killing out the entire newscast during sweeps all while they are still promoting a newscast that wont air... or watcing a simple ball game on the tube and they put full screen chyrons over the screen while hte game is going on and you miss a play. Sure they still have a few good things on tv, but it is certainly rare to find... I admit I love watching these reality tv shows, bachelor,high school reuinon, joe millionaire and these are no worse than local news.
