So with my little promotion I am about to receive I am now more confident that in the next 6 months I plan on buying a new tv to replace my still 2-3 year old Toshiba 32" tv.

The forums I have read that sometimes tv that is not broadcast in HDTV looks worse than the standard CRT.

Of course everyting looks great on HDTV, but the standard/digital stuff looks like crap.

What are your thoughts? I have been looking at the Sony 50 LCD tv, only thing it does not have is PIP/POP (Picture On Picture)

i have the 60" sony wega lcd tv. i got it for just under 3 grand at sears. best buy had it for almost 5 grande at the time. i also have directv so every channel for me comes in perfect. the hd is just awesome. the only channel that ever gives me trouble is my local abchd .
also if you go to sears they will match any other stores price and give you i think 10% of the difference.

i think sony makes the best tv as well
