Isles recall DiPietro from AHL
Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro was recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Thursday.
DiPietro rejoins the Islanders, where he has compiled a 2-2 mark this season with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. With Bridgeport, DiPietro went 14-10-8 with a 2.21 goals-against average and three shutouts.
Meanwhile, center Justin Mapletoft was also recalled from Bridgeport. In eight games for New York this season, he has one goal and two assists.
Finally, goaltender Steve Valiquette was returned to Bridgeport.
