Yeah suck it up and PAY FOR IT so those of us who have it legally dont have to pay increasing rates as DirecTv gets whored by people who steal their signal if you dont want to pay that much, GET CABLE OR BUY RABBIT EARS!

/rant off

Sorry man, nothing personal, but I hope you all get zapped.

Check around for a sub program. That way you will never get zapped. Just remember that if you order anything to make sure you get it from Canada. When a place gets busted in the US all of there records are confiscated and anyone on the list gets a nasty-gram from DTV to pay up.

sub program=its a subscription that someone pays for legit and then sells copies of it to others.

First of all, Thank you Bubba.

Secondly, Ace Hi........I do have cable. I cannot get the MLB Package on my cable, and in addition to that, I asked for assistance, not An ASS in this instancemoon1 . Had I known that you were "Super-Citizen" I would have put your name on the post and asked you directly how I should live my life and how to protect my glass house. Enjoy your perfect life my friend:)...I will also warn all of the other members here that download music that they should be expecting your etiquette tips shortly.

I was told that you need to get a boot strap as the codes are going down right away but if you get the bootstrap they will last a long while.

What is a boot strap??

One other thing about the sub-program..

The only difference between this and the other programs that get zapped all the time(besides not ever getting zappd) is you have to order all PPV with your remote. After you order so many it fills up the card and all you have to do clean it and reset the PPV amount. (takes about 5 sec.)

Oh this is hilarious. We have a few who are preaching by telling someone to pretty much go **** themselves & pay for the service legally yet these same people make wagers almost if not daily which are technically illegal in this country.

If you can explain to me how my wagering causes you to pay more when you wager, then I will be glad to listen. Thats what I am talking about here. And if you can explain how wagering is illegal since "technically" (your word) there is no law on the books against online internet wagering and "technically" it takes place in Costa Rica, not the US. Otherwise, find an analogy that is at least halfway related to what we are talking about.

Satellite and cable theft costs the industry $10-12 billion a year. Tlove is right, the people that pay those costs are those of us who pay for it legally. DirecTv will keep zapping your card everytime you find a way around it.

Where did you get the numbers from?

As far as on-line wagering goes...When you cash out of an account do you make sure you report the amount to the IRS so you can pay taxes on it? I dont know if anyone does but I doubt it. So if Im like you I should be pissed at all of the on-line gamblers
because they are the reason my taxes are so high. They are trying to get something for nothing. If everyone paid taxes on winnings the govt would lower my taxes. Yeah Right
Same thing with DTV. If all of a sudden only paying individuals recieved DTV do you really think that your bill is going to go lower? Or will they take the extra profit and find another reason to keep your rates the same.

"the bunker"
how many

how many

have more than one cable provider in your area?.....most have only one....one of the great monopolies in this country.....their lobby is strong as hell....and cable costs are ridiculous....not very familiar with direct t.v.....i do know that the cable company in my area would love to put direct tv out of business....

keyser....i can`t say i blame you....i was getting full service....now i have to pay for extra boxes to get premium channels i have already been paying for....also,they zapped tmc on me...and didn`t lower the monthly fee....and want me to pay extra to get it back....

these guys are criminals...and our politicians are probably getting their pockets lined by these greedy bastards...

keyser,i don`t blame you one bit...

To actually think that cable and DirecTV costs are higher because of me, then you are buying right into what the cable company's and DirecTV want you to believe. Do you understand that a satelite is launched and it doesn't matter if their are 10 or 10 million people receiving that signal.......Ask Michael Eisner why Disney continues to raise their prices and he will tell you, just as he has stated in the past, "As long as people keep coming, we will continue to raise prices."........It's the fools like Ace High and TLove that buy into this sham. Believe me, if less people subscribed to their service the price would drop. It's basic economics, Supply and Demand, but then again I'm not preaching to the choir, I'm hearing it from the Pope and the Bishop themselves, and we all know what they did when they found a priest molesting little boys.................Exactly, nothing. But they continued to preach their holier than thou sermons.......I notice as well that neither of them has responded to claiming their winnings on their tax returns, but then again they probably don't live in glass houses either........Just because your ticked at the price that you are paying, don't throw the blame on somebody else. Maybe you should take time to figure out the real reasons before spouting off some cable company propaganda........As I mentioned before I'm sure you guys have never done anything wrong so that's why you have exclusive rights to the Morality Soap Box.

Gardenweasel, I appreciate your input. Thank you.

News Corp (Rupert Murdoch) seems to think it's a pretty good deal.

It's called corporate greed ace. Your rates are going to go up every year, just like cable. It's called growth. Shareholders demand it.

News Corp's shares crashed about 10 per cent on concerns that the $11 billion Mr Murdoch will pay for the Direct-TV Network was far too high.

DirecTV says its basic package of 130 channels costs $39.99 per month, but the average customer pays $59.10 to get premium movies and sports coverage. The company reported $6.4 billion in revenue last year. With 11.4 million subscribers at the end of March, it was the nation's second-largest pay TV service, after cable TV giant Comcast Corp.

Keyser, enjoyed your rebuttal. You make some interesting analogies. Think someone in this forum may be employed in the telecommunications industry also.

Thanks Zoomer........Unfortunately, I'm not employed at all at the moment, but that's a whole other story......Just try to look at things for what they are and not jump on a bandwagon, or rush to stick my foot in my mouth.......Seems like the stone throwers are busy putting plywood up to protect their own homes at the moment.......I wasn't trying to start a controversy, just wanted a little help, and for the most part, this forum is usually pretty handy for such. Obviously this one took a wrong turn right out of the gate. Oh well, you can't win them all.:D
