So, I was told in report to be cautious before I went in room 22. The patient was a 41 year old woman in the hospital for a TIA. Her boyfriend was staying with her, and the nurse had walked in on them knocking boots  I found out later that a girl on my shift and a respiratory therapist had also entered the room and caught them in suspicious activities.

I never walked in on anything, but after I went in the room at 11PM, there was a noticeable pussy/ass smell

What makes it even better is she complained of chest pain later. As I suspected, she was proven to be a faker.

Our tax dollars at work. A faker in the hospital I guess for the hell of it  who is already on Medicaid. We just paid for a place for her to hookup with her boyfriend for the week I guess? my theory is that if you are having sex, you can't be too ill.

I sometimes hate my job and the associated abuses of the healthcare system. What a bunch of complete bs!

At least she didn't proposition me. That has happened to me on several occAsions

I had another patient with bedbugs last night, and another who had a yeast infected abdominal apron (the smell made me literally vomit in my mouth).

Quite a shitty night!

I'll take abdominal apron over bed bugs or scabies, makes you itch or have the heebie geebies when you have a patient with those. Takes a long time to feel clean after you get home.

How obese was the Abdominal Apron, man it's been a long time since going into home care. Did you need an aide to help hold it up when doing the tx? :mj07:

I vomited in my mouth from 5 feet away. I did no treatment on it lol (thank goodness nothing was ordered). She had on these panties that must have been 5 feet wide. I had to wrap her legs with ace wraps, but on the sheet, her skin had sloughed off leaving this semi-bloody pile of dead skin.

We have had so many gigantic people lately. Another one the night before was 4'10" 515 pounds. :scared Sometimes I think I would rather slit my throat haha!!

A few years back I was working the 7 PM - 7 AM shift, my patient was 713 pounds, major cardiac history, severe edema, leg wounds. ( Tx took 30 minutes and I had to have an aide relieve another aide to hold it up so I could irrigate and wrap etc) but anyways night 1 the MD orders 50 MG demedex IV, we are doing lyte check every 2 hours I believe, he put out 10,000 cc during the noc :scared He got a bunch of bumps of K+. Day 2 they order it again, getting at midnight, I tell the Supervisor that I really didn't feel comfortable doing that again tonight, she said it would be fine. Well he's putting out mega piss and we are constantly checking lights and running bumps of K+ but this time we couldn;t keep up. About 4 AM the shit hits the fan the patient is crashing, HR is shooting at 172, Rapid A FIB, SOB, I was fucking PIST! We were a vent / rehab center and they got him sent to a cardiac hospital 5 minutes down the street. I wanted to fucking quit. I was so pissed that they slammed with the Demedex 2 nights in a row. I am sure he is no longer with us at this point but I sure hope he survived that and got to see his family again.

FUCKERS... Pisses me off as I type

Definite Abdominal Apron. If she was my patient, I would have to have a co worker help keep that up, as she probably has a bunch of rashes and weeping sores, then we would have to swab the deck down and get that gunk/fungus out of there and pat dry. Probably smear some Nystatin on that and then put an absorbent Sham Wow in there to suck up the sweat/moisture so it can heal
