satellite keeps losing its signal the last month or so. Has done it 4 times in the last 5 minutes but the weather here is sunny and beautiful not a cloud in the sky. Anything i can do to stop it from losing the signal? I called Dish and they want to send someone out and charged me i told them thanks but no thanks.

obviously could be a number of things, but I would navigate to the spot in the menu that shows your reception from the various satellites your aimed at. I have direct so not sure how to get there on dish. This should show you if your satellite has gotten out of alignment. I would start there and work my way out.

Yeah go into your menu and the dish pointing and see what both 110 and 119 are at. Should both be over 100 as I think the max on Dish is 125.
If it is sunny and signal is popping in and out then it is one of two things.
The dish is not mounted strongly anymore and the wind gust are pushing the dish strong enough to lose signal.
The other thing could be Dish sends out packets to try and knock down hackers and sometimes they affect regular subscribers. Try removing card then putting it back in and doing a hard reset on your box(unplug it for 2-3 minutes).
It sounds like your card is either hashing(hacker term) which means card has issues and needs reprogramming or wind it screwing up actual dish.

If the card is screwed up then I would tell Dish that you are not paying for any service because they are responsible for it getting messed up.

Sounds like some good ole fashion hashng to me.
If that is what it is then the card needs reprogramming or replaced. Or Dish needs to take the hash packet out of the stream.

check and see if dish is secure. if it is make sure connections are secure. check signal pressing menu,6,1,1. check signal on sat's 119 and 110; transponders 15 and 16 on both birds. signal has been modified on most dish equipment. if signal is 40 it's really 70. 70 is the lowest acceptable signal. if signal is good i would suspect your lnb is bad. it is the component pointing at the dish. also make sure trees haven't grown up blocking your signal. good luck.

if you suspect your lnb is bad you can call dish and they should ship you another one for free. most promotions are lease situations that cover your equipment. installing it is simple; 2 screws hold the lnb on. go vikes!
