Anybody shop them lately? The Frigidaire I have is not that old, but it is a genuine piece of shit. Detergent dispenser doesn't open, doesn't clean, bakes on food after it doesn't clean, etc. you have to prewash and post wash.

I'm researching, but any serious opinions welcome. Thanks.

My X-wife had to have an ASKO Dishwasher. Here is a good selection of dishwashers at Costco. We lived in the house for 20 years and it worked perfect. Think it was made in Sweden. It was so quiet you didn't know if it was on.

We've had a Bosch for 8 years now, and it is awesome. Cleans anything we throw at it.

The best thing - it runs so quietly that I can't tell you how many times we've opened it when it has been running... of course, if we'd have been thinking, you can just put your hand on it and feel a subtle vibration, and know not to open it.

Bosch for me.

$800.00 for a freaking dish washer
If it were my final home, maybe i would spend that much. How about a middle of the road $450.00 dish washer? What is out there that is dependable and quality for that price?

The $450 one sounds like a freight train running thru your house.

Go the xtra couple of hundred and get a good one.

You get what you pay for!

Frigidaire.... I remember years back buying an AC unit from them and it lasted exactly 35 days and took a shit. Took it back where I bought it and they told me "not our problem... call Frigidare" Called Frigidaire.... they gave me an "authorized repair facility" to take it to.... 100 miles away!!! I just threw the fucking thing away and made up my mind that was the last Frigidaire product I'd ever own.
For a "cheaper line" product, I never had problems with Whirlpool products.
