grand valley state (-13.5)
probably not going to see a lot of points in this game, but whatever points we do see are likely going to come from grand valley. their defense is just sick, allowing 11.8 ppg in arguably the best div-II conference in the country. this team just finds another gear in the playoffs. in their last 9 playoff games from '03 to right now, that defense has allowed 9.7 ppg. offensively, theyve got more than enough weapons to win -- running back astin martin started as true freshman at toledo before transferring and has rushed for 1200+ yards this season at gvsu. qb cullen finnerty is another toledo transfer. he doesnt do anything crazy but is efficient. the gvsu gameplan has changed a little bit since brian kelly left for central michigan. in past years, gvsu would drop 50+ points on you every game. now, they dominate with defense and are content to just hand off to martin 20+ times a game. nobody has stopped them yet. northwest missouri is a perennial d-II power, but just dont see them on the same level as grand valley this year. nwmizzou needed a touchdown in the final seconds last week to get here. they'll throw it around and be aggressive, but grand valley had 10 sacks last week and has only allowed 5 passing touchdowns all year. think we're looking at a 28-10 kind of game.
