even make a goddamn attempt anymore to cover up their blatant racism towards anything sports related that isn't black? I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it is getting really disturbing trying to watch anything on ESPN anymore.....just finished watching PTI and Wilbon is saying "tank" johnson shouldn't be suspended by the bears or the NFL.....I'm sorry, but if that was a white player in the same situation.....especially given the "tanks" previous run ins with the law, Wilbon would be all over it saying the year should be over for the guy. Then he rips the Red Sox for getting a pitcher who is unproven.....unlike and these were his examples...Reggie Bush and LeBron James. I didn't know they were proven either except in college and high school....we all had a pretty good idea they would be great but nonetheless, they were unproven at the next level.....Eric Crouch, Gino Torreta, Akili Smith were great college players who did squat in the NFL.....and the list of great high school ballers to never do shit in the NBA dwarfs the NFL list I'm sure.....they don't call them playground legends for nothing. I've already started to gain a great dislike for ESPN.....the way they can manipulate anything sports....but having to listen to Stephen A. Smith.....Stuart booyah Scott.....Mikey Wilbon.....John Saunders on ABC.....and their double standards is getting beyond old.......I'm done with them....if it isn't a game their broadcasting, I'm not watching their garbage. I don't think it is asking too much for a person to be honest and upfront about right and wrong regardless of race......call it the way it is...not the way you want it to be ESPN!!! Somebody help me....am I seeing something that isn't there....if so, please set me straight. :sadwave:

I agree with your post, but don't let it burn you up. There's really nothing you can do, except don't tune in.

Like you said, it's all over the media, and you can't expect to live in a cave.

ESPN is trying to keep it real:mj122:

People should really take a phucking break from ESPN AND TV IN GENERAL!!!!

Try it. After a couple weeks, you will look at it in a totally different light.

It's must be the most appropriately named item in the world.......The Idiot Box

If Fox had a freaking clue and would stop putting robots, ugly dyke broads, and momma's boy's born with a silver spoon in his mouth on during their big sporting events, maybe I would watch them.

I'm waiting for the third party candidate.

Cable sux ass as well.

couldn't agree more......if a station would just come with real objectional analysis their ratings would go through the roof.....not every sports fan is a "pimp" or "player" and down with the phucked up MTV world in which we live

direct tv has a few espn's. Espn news isnt bad. I find myself watching that the most. what i will never understand is when they run the ticker lets say the nba tonight, you find out that Paul Kasol may play tonight but nobody tells me that Joe Johnson isn't. Or i see Jefferson is out but not Posh.

You forgot to mention one of my "favorites" Micheal Irvin, between him and Stephen A Smith its beyond rediculous.

I long for the days when Rich Eisen and Craig Kilborn were on, they were great..and no I am not a racist, but its terrible to listen to the above.

I can tolerate Stuart to a point...and Wilbon is fine.

I like Wilbon. I don't think he is biased one way or another. I don't think Saunders is that bad either. The others that were mentioned I find really hard to tolerate.

MCity,

You sound angry about something and it's not ESPN. You get mugged recently or something?

yeah, that's it....I got mugged. :mj07: If you're "down" with this double standard and dumbing down of america....white america in particular, good for you.....I'm not. I can see right through some of the blatant shit ESPN allows in an attempt to become "street" and "play'a friendly" and it is total BS in my eyes. You probably think MTV is still a good music video station too huh? So no...I didn't get mugged and yes I was talking in regards to ESPN...check my first post again if you stilll don't believe me.

I watch EPSN occasionally and the first thing that comes to mind for me isn't the brothers and their street lingo. Most athletes in Football and Hoops are black so maybe they are trying to give the perspective of most of the guys who play the sports. I ain't "down" with anything.....I just dont' sit around thinking about Stuart Scott saying "Boo Ya" and letting it bother me. Turn the channel if it's bothers you that much.

Sounds like we are all on the same page.

I'm in my 40s so they probably aren't shooting for my demographic. They want the college kid who drinks a case a beer and sucks on his Bong all weekend. "Let's get stoned and watch Michael Irvin and Stuart Scott maaaaaaan!:mj07:
