Last Night: 0-2, -20.00 Units
Record: 106-68-15, +93.20 Units

This is not the right thing to do, as it is poor $ management, but I am VERY STUBBORN. I am going to risk it all today as I LOVE this situation.

Scwhab in goal, Domi is out, Lumme is out, Mogilny is out, Sundin has a soft ankle after taking a shot this morning in practice, Yuskevitch(sp?) is out, and the Leafs party is going to come to an end today.

The red wings should win by at least 2 goals today.

I have thought about this very carefully and I am not looking back. My local had no hesitation taking this wager(weird?).

40 Units DET -.5 (-205)

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH THE RED WINGS

This team this year has made me some good money, and hopefully they will come through tonight.

I will not be watching the game as I have night school tonight, so hopefully when I get in the car it will be a positive result.

TO MY FAVORITE TEAM (DA LEAFS)

Jim,

Thansk for your efforts on this board. After reading your info I was really tempted to take Bos, but I REALLY feel Detroit in this situation would win 9 out of every 10 games, especialy at home. I hear Bowman on teh local radio station as he was being interviewed live this morning. The host asked Bowman to ease up tonight as the Leafs need a break while Det is already in, Bowman replies " I always look forward to playing the leafs, even my players are up for this game as anytime one gets a chance to play the Leafs, its as if its the 7th game of a Stanly Cup Championship."

Those words just made me believe even greater in their willingness not to take the Leafs easy tonight. Hopefully their actions match their words.

I am out for the day!

Good Luck All

Some more info thanks to Terryray

Schwab is 0-3-0 vs Detroit, 4.91 gga, .860 pct
Hasek is 13-5-5 vs Leafs, with 1.96 gga, .930 pct

Leafs 14-12 on 1 day rest, 6-8 after win on 1 day
Wings 5-2 on 3 days rest, and 3-1 on 3 day after win

Domi out? Hackett in goal
thanks infinii. Let's see how long I can keep it up!

Leafs having more trouble with injuries.

"Toronto is already missing No. 1 goaltender Curtis Joseph (broken hand), sniper Alexander Mogilny (cracked vertebra), defenceman Dmitry Yushkevich (blood clot in leg), defenceman Jyrki Lumme (suspended) and defenceman Wade Belak (flu)."

and now maybe Tie Domi out. whole article here:

MY GOD!!!

Someone shoot me.

I know it's snowing outside but I don't see any pigs flying around. I never thought I'd live to see the day that news of Domi not playing would actually affect a capper's outlook a Leaf game.

Sure the Leafs are banged up and are missing 2 cornerstones of their team (Cujo and Yuskevich), but we don't care if Domi starts or not.

Seriously though. I don't agree that Wings would win this game 9 out of 10. Simply because I don't think any team currently in the league could beat any other team 9 times out of 10.

Toronto has alot to play for tonight. They are battling for top spot in division and Boston is playing as well. So you know they will be watching scoreboard (if Joe Louis has them). Caps have an amazing record when they score first goal, yet Leafs still managed to battle back. Nice confidence booster. Scwab gets a nice win to take the pressure off.

I'm not saying I'd take the Leafs, but I wouldn't bet the Wings on such a line...simply no value in it for me.

good luck

I strongly hope that you reconsider the amount of this wager, TTM$$$. Detroit is coming off a long trip in which they won every game. There is no greater letdown scenario than that. Detroit has won all three games since the break, but they fell behind to each team and all three teams are non-playoff teams. Toronto is still hit on offense, averaging 3 goals per game since the break vs. two playoff teams and two teams fighting to stay in the race.

My point is that there are many stronger games in the NHL both today and the rest of the season. Chances are Detroit will win but why not look at Dallas, where a white hot team faces a Kings team struggling to score goals?

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Detroit is 5-2 in first home game after a multiple-game road trip.

Detroit lost their last home game, to Columbus no less, and still remember that.

Toronto 7-5 ATS vs Detroit since '96. But didn't face Hasek in those.

Detroit papers say there will be a huge number of Leaf fans at Joe Louis Arena.

Teams meet once more this season, on April Fools. In Detroit again.

If you are willing to give up that much chalk on such a large bet, I would consider taking a basketball favorite as a ML. I just don't understand, knowing as we all do that hockey is a sport where underdogs for the most part have a legitimate shot at pulling out a win, or a tie in this case. Yes toronto is playing with some injuries and are down, but it's not a team like Atlanta (which if it were, I still wouldn't recommend it.)

I guess what I don't understand about bets like this are if people put so much time into winning those +40 units, why waste it in 1 night possibly. If I added up the time I spent capping to get up 40 units, there is no way I'd risk it on 1 hockey game. A -200 bball favorite is much more likely to win IMO.

With that said, you've got huge balls TTM$$ and I will be pulling hard for you tonight. Best of luck!

Just got out of class to see other opinions, I truly value the feedback I get.

Infinii, Domi plays a BIG factor in this game as the only way I see T.O. defeating the R.W is by out hitting them. They would have to play a rockem- sockem type of game. Without Domi, the Leafs can not play a physical game as they will get smacked around. Roberts, Corson, and tucker will have to step up tonight, and that takes them away from their gameplan as Sundin needs roberts to be effective.

All of your comments are appreciated.

All I need now is some luck

Nice stat from Joey!

Here it is: Hasek in last 15 games is 14-1, but in last 12 at home he is an astounding 12-0-2, his last loss at home was against Col all the back on 12/5/01.

Thanks TTM$,

Good luck tonight. I'll be rooting for ya. If I could get a ML I'd play it also. That stat jumped out at me last night.

Where do you go to School?

I'm in Med school, I know how you feel, balancing school, girlfriend, and Capping is tough. Espcially w/ tests coming up in 2 weeks.

Hey be positive, if Domi plays, maybe he'll throw some dumbsh*t Domi-like-elbows or other moronic things and Detroits PP can rack up some goals. Glad to see some other grad school guys here...at UNC Chapel Hill, where are you Joey?

I'm at New York Institute of Technology.
I go to the Medical school there, its called New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. I will be a DO. Probably not everyone knows what that is.

Well, in short, at DO is a MD with 1 extra class throughout the first 4 years. That class is OMM (osteopathic Manipulative Medicine) It is the reason I chose this over MD school. I can prescribe medicine, do surgery, all the same as MD, but I can also treat patients with my hands. Manipulative therapy. Works realy well on head, back, and Neck.

Good luck with your studies

Remember...

Remember...

Lots of guys on this board loaded up on Detroit about a month ago when they played Columbus - and lost 3-2.

Hope that history does not repeat tonight itself for you, TTM$.
