Fishing and hunting. The older I get the less I hunt and the more I fish. Love it.

I have a couple small hunting properties I enjoy spending time at - tree plantings, foodplots, etc and the actual hunting if I find the time.

Planted an orchard earlier this spring - apples, peaches, pears & cherries:0074

Enjoy spending time outdoors:toast:

Sounds like you have your own little or large  piece of Paradise !

If I wasn't Married to these properties where I live, I would have my own plot(s) in Montana or Idaho doing exactly what you are doing.

I do have a small garden started, 3 citrus trees, removing a bunch of river rock from my backyard for more growing area.

I get in 3 miles morning and night force marched pace with a 50 lb ruck sack, 6 days a week. Gym 1.5 hours a day, 5 days a week, shooting 2 times a week, Martial Arts Training, Tim Larkin, Target Focused Training, taught by my personal trainer.

As for coins, I lurk for pre 64 .50 cent pieces and Quarters, wheat pennies, mercury dimes, and pre 64 nickles.

They are out there, and worth some serious sheckles.

Getting Ready:toast:

Love it actually. I am in pretty good shape. Just ran 10 K in 48 minutes, want to get away from heavy lifting as i will be 40 in July. Havent touched a weight in over a month which is the longest probably in my life. Muay thai is great, super super workout, I want to learn the clinch and leg work, hand wise I am fairly good from routinely hitting heavy bag/training at home.

Dear Hedgy Pleeeze post ur sucky picks so we can fade them..i have made a 2nd career fading sucky picks Just got a new sucky selector that has gone 1 - 9 his first 10 picks. He is apologetic but i keep buildin' him up telling him he will turn it around ... that i have deep pockets but they never do...........If i ever found any one werth a shit i wd be paying them.

Also Hedgy in my many years of doing this i have never met a successful gambler that was a Republican or a Bible thumper. Both require a lower intellect and a lack of education. Case u think im pullin the intellect comment out of my ass Christian and Conservative colleges have a student population 10 to 20 points lower in IQ and aptitude than advance liberal bastions of higher learning. To be a homo phobe also identifies u as not being enlightened so forget any idea that u will succeed at risk taking that requires a supreme intellect.... discipline...and a grasp of reality and acknowledging what is real and happening before your eyes. """"Faith""" will stick u in the ass and make u a guaranteed loser. "Faith" will also kill you.

So you come out swinging, I bet small it's nothing more than a hobby...

I am no bible thumper either, I am against taxes and other liberal bullshit like gay marriage

I like making wine and I love playing golf.

I'm still new to wine making, but I have learned a lot over the past couple months and am going to see if I can improve my product. Also getting interested in making fruit wines and beer, but that will have to wait.

Fun but frustrating project !

Makes a friggin mess !

Get yourself a good stainless steel pot for sure !

Also, get one of those propane outdoor single burners, you can regulate the flame, and IF and hopefully you don't burn the mash, it won't set off every single smoke alarm off in the house. Not that that hasn't happened to me  :nono: NEVER, I swear. Bottle all beer in dark bottles.

Once you have made a couple of good batches of brew, mess around and add flavors to your beer. I made a couple of chocolate raspberry that turned out excellent !

Good Luck ! :toast:

Ok Jack, here is a business sideline idea for you....Koi Ponds

Ok Jack, here is a business sideline idea for you....Koi Ponds

I'll bite...

Looked up definition ..

Hobby....an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation: Her hobbies include stamp-collecting and woodcarving.

I have always enjoyed aquariums... circa 1958, my dad brought home a glass milk bottle which we
populated with guppies, snails and aquatic plants.

Had many aquariums over the years, never ventured into salt-water tanks... beautiful, but a royal pain in the ass.

As I have gotten older I have found more pleasure putting in an outdoor "aquarium", a Koi Pond.

Due to yard constraints and Goofy Lab Dog, just a 500 gallon, lined and rocked hole in the ground.

Waterfall, minor yard landscaping, now added outdoor garden lighting.

Been a joy, and challenge...interesting wildlife year round using it as a drinking fountain.

Stocked it with $10 Koi and Fancy Goldfish donated from a neighbor.
Some Koi are many thousands of dollars and decades old.

On a trip to Japan, noted many locals had one Koi in an outside aquarium that throughout their childhood they nurtured.
Upon maturation they would let it go in a local stream...

Rich people have em and pay dearly for installation and maintenance....my total cost $1500, enjoyment, Priceless..

Hunting and Fishing
I love spending time outdoors in Texas.

Except when the temps go over 100.
Then I spend a lot of time just floating in the water instead of fishing.

Catch and release and only take 1 or 2 deer a year.
Even though in Texas you can take 5 deer a year

Saltwater aquarium- lots of work at first, but eventually it turns into just feeding the fish once a day and changing some of the water once a month.

Brewing beer- I've only put out a couple of brews. An American Pale Ale and a wheat beer. Both have been excellent, but I think I still have much to learn.

Golf- Whenever I can
Fishing- Whenever I can
