I see things improving in Georgia at least.

Its always slower as we go into Nov / Dec but I am finally getting people calling me about new construction stuff.

We have been in a recession since 2007 December. People are starting to spend their money again. Christmas is coming.

We need to spend our way out.

Start buying shit left and right.

I just got a new big screen Samsong TV with surround sound. Cost me about 2200 at hhgregg.
I have stock in hhgregg.

A company in the central Missouri area is cutting 110 jobs, i'm sure those people don't think so. I only hope that they all voted for OBAMA.

JMHO.

Hedge, don't you think the leasing of vehicles would be down due to the cash for clunkers program? Not to mention, the government bonus for buying a new car? Why would most people lease a vehicle if they could get a nice spiff for buying something, and trading in an old clunker? I don't really think the leasing program for new cars is a solid measure of the economy, at this time.

Not trying to be a wiseass here, just thinking out loud. I could be wrong.

From my perspective, business is a little bit better for the advertisers that spend money with my company. Not very much better, but it is a little better. My company business is outdoor stuff, hunting/fishing/boating/etc. The big ticket stuff is still not strong, but the good companies are doing ok.

And my personal new business, school, is going very well. Teaching jobs in two years should be pretty good, considering the retiring teachers and my qualifications (hopefully!). But enough about me... coaching will still be a great option for sports freaks like me... I can't wait to try to mold the hearts and minds of some young student-athletes in the near future! And get paid for it, for once...

More lay offs at my company in Jax last week. Had a 100 people working when Bush was in office. Now we are down to 40. And what do we look forward to with Obama and the the Democrats?
More U.S. debt. This administration is a damn joke. Bailing out company's that should not get a penny of tax payer money. All the while the citizens get higher taxes and inflation. I am so damn pissed. I do not see how any of any Abama supports can keep pumping hot air up his ass.
Please tell one thing he has done that betters this country. I am so sick of seeing my friends and cohorts get laid off. Dont come in here and give me some line of bullshit that it is. Son of a bitch. One pissed off citizen.

Well Chad, first of all we lease to companies not individuals, so cash for clunkers had no impact on us, second of all leasing a vehicle enables a company to write off the whole payment while the vehicle is depreciating over a 3 -5 year period under FASB13 accounting rules. Right now people are just driving the vehicles they have instead of buying new ones and spending money they will need in order to pay taxes to Obama, at least that is the story I get from our salesmen. I work in the credit department and our volume has cut in half since the communist took office.
