I know this can be a trickey area, some guys may not attempt it at all or some may take it serious and be good at it. I would fall more into the first group but realize it can't be overlooked, especially in a case like Baylor with RG III.

I had thought about docking them like maybe from 6 to even 9 points; this may seem large but there's no telling what he meant for Baylor over the last few years?

I guess there's even cases where one might want to upgrade a team from last year although this would be even trickery.

Any thoughts on this that anyone would like to share on Baylor or any other team for that matter. Although I may not get any better later in the season, I feel more vunerable the first 2 or 3 weeks.

Cruncher, I'm not a Baylor guy but I've seen them play a lot over the years and saw them live last year. I also saw the kid that will start this year play live last year when RG went down against Tech.

First, the kid that's going to qb is a stud and you can tell he has a ton of confidence. Two, Briles offense seems qb friendly and easy for them to pick up. But, I think the problem is the WRs. Last year they had guys that would make plays on 50/50 balls. That makes a lot of average qbs look very good. I know they have some talent but I don't think it's near what they had last year.

I don't think their offense will lose a ton of production especially against avergage teams but I do think they'll dip below last year in how they did against the top teams.

Thanks LW, especially since it's coming from a Big 12 guy. I should have known, surrounding players can make a good Qb look great or vice versa, not to take anything away from RG III. I was leaning SMU, they surprised me in their bowl game. May have to regroup now although still considering them.

I'm going to be paying real close attention to that Baylor/SMU game. First to see how Florence looks for Baylor and then how Gilbert looks for SMU against Baylor's Defense. I'm not convinced both teams will keep rolling with no drop off.

I'll lay off the game and just watch how it plays out. I agree with Layinwood about Baylor having success against weak teams, but I can see them losing shootouts this year without RGIII leading them to miraculous comebacks.

Michigan transfer Daryl Stonum (5th year, immediately eligible) is extremely talented and could make a huge impact for Baylor. He's a former top 50 national recruit who's numerous run ins with the law cost him his last year at Michigan.
