Philly/Halladay (-1) (-148) 148.00 ----> 100.00

Philly with Doc after the loss yesterday, role of a stopper, his individual regular season winding down strong, team gearing for the playoffs (see Verlander yesterday), etc.

Toronto/Romero (-1) (-103) 103.00 ----> 100.00

Last home stand of the year for the Jays, lots of strong, young talent being looked at, real competition for several positions, team very upbeat and competitive (see Yankees series) and very motivated to finish over .500 to build for next.

With Romero on the mound, not going to reduce the bet.

Ricky Romero will make his penultimate start of the season in the opener, facing righty Jerome Williams, a former big-time Giants prospect who disappeared from the big leagues for four years before re-emerging this season with the Halos.

GOOD LUCK TODAY, MADPEOPLE! :0008

Damn Yankees (-1?) (-129) 64.50 ----> 50.00

Rarely play the -1? unless it's a really good hitting lineup and pee-poor opponents. Not Philly cause you can't depend on them to hit.

Betting the Yankees will come back after being dominated by Morrow yesterday. True, it wasn't their full lineup, but a big part of the reason that Jeter and Granderson got the day off was that they?re a combined 6-for-38 lifetime against Morrow.

They are back at new Yankee Stadium and should be primed to grind down the rookie, lefty or not, in their home stretch to the playoffs.

Besides, I feel like catching a bit of the game off and on today and it can pay for my pizza and drinks later for MNF. :0002 :toast:
