Just said if you died from a heart attack, but couldn't get in the hospital because it was full of corona virus patients and they didn't have room for you, that this was counted as corona virus because it was the reason you could not be given health treatment. Not sure how I feel about this stat. In a world where we are looking for normalcy, one side of me wants true numbers with all conditions.Any death is bad,but would think that this should be listed under heart attack?:shrug:

What will it be a week from now? I think of batting average here. In the first few games, your average can bounce all over the place. One day, you're hitting .800 and the next .350

Didn't see the interview so can't say for sure how it was meant, but like with the H1N1 there are the confirmed cases/deaths and then the estimated ones, which were much higher. Right now we're just looking at the confirmed deaths - and I would think that wouldn't be counted there. But later on they might decide that some of these non-direct corona deaths should be included in the estimated total. I don't think they would do that on an individual case basis - how would you know for sure that a specific person who died from a heart attack could have been saved? But they will probably look at it in the aggregate - i.e. if the regular fatality rate of a heart attack in NYC is 20% (just making that up) and during the last 3 weeks it was 25% they would take that additional 5% and call that corona-related.

Agree,,I am fixing to quit watching TV until sports return. Just saw the headline Detroit hospitals reports people are literally dying in the ER hallways..I mean,come on? This virus is serious stuff but give me a little more than this? Were they virus victims ,gun shot victims? And how many are dying in your hallways? Was this from a reputable source or some random person called you ?
