I'd like to hear what people have to say about this documentary. I think it is absolutely fascinating, in a sick kind of way.

If you haven't seen it, please do. Pretty wild stuff.

i`m not one of these devout, extremist christians that are depicted in these hit pieces that try and infer that these fringers are mainstream christians....

but it fascinates me...the way that the left loves to demonize christians while giving islam a pass....

i think back to rosie o`donnell asserting that, "radical christianity is just as threatening as radical islam in a country like america." ...

but while fringe evangelists may say, for instance, that gay people are wicked, damned to hellfire, etc, i don’t know of any internationally renowned christian leaders who are calling for the imprisonment and killing of gay people....

unlike the supposedly “moderate” grand ayatollah ali al-sistani, who insists that gay men and lesbians should be “killed in the worst manner possible.” ...

not condemned, corrected, prayed for, or pitied, or any of the usual nonsense spouted by the falwells, the robertson`s et al... but murdered - as brutally as possible.....

and while "the crazy"creationists can be laughed at, sadistic bigots like sistani are given a pass from comparable scorn in the “progressive” left-leaning media.....

go figure....

Listen Weasel, have you even WATCHED the documentary? The film makers offer NO commentary and aren't asking any leading questions in any BS interviews. There is about four clips of a christian talk show host speaking out against the radical evangelical beliefs......that's it. Everything else is pure evangelical goodness.

BTW: Kinda funny to see ol' Teddy Haggard before the fall.

Watch the movie.

once again weasel telling someone to chill out - i always find humor in that. please - let's hear another misplaced rant on liberals and muslims when the thread has nothing to do with either.

i felt sorry for the kids in that documentary - not even remotely given the opportunity to choose their beliefs. brainwashed from day 1. how many of them will snap one day?

The reason I say it is fascinating in a sick kind of way is because it has that car-crash feel to it. You are drawn to it, not necessarily because you want to be a part of it, but because it is so foreign to you. I hope that makes sense. Wasn't saying these peopleare sick......although an argument could be made that.....(I'll stop now).

I just watched the movie.

Hmmm?

I know there's something I need to say, just not quite sure how to put it into words.

Responding in this forum I feel is a good thing for me. It prevents my mind from going where it does not need to go and at the same time, it brings to the forefront a controversy about something all of us have carefully avoided for the longest time.

The subject of Jesus always has an ample suppy of mockery, ridicule and contempt at the ready. But in the back of most everyone's mind, I believe there's the glimmer of "could it be true?"

At some point, most of us have wrestled with that nagging notion. But yet it remains because it continues to exist unresolved until each individual steps out in faith.

Fact of the matter is the line has been drawn in the sand...God or Satan. This isn't my opinion. If one believes the bible is the mind of God on paper, then you can read it there.

This movie merely reflects which side of the line these people have chosen.

Right or wrong?

You will never know.

It's a faith based answer.

Buddy - where do you side on some of political issues tied into Christianity? Like evolution/creation, abortion, gays, etc? ...Do you think Ted Haggard is a good man with a disease or a fraud?

Personally - I feel like the Christians featured in 'Jesus Camp' wouldn't recognize Jesus if he stared them in the face.

indeed. i appreciate the freudian slip.

I'm certainly not intending to probe anyone during a time of trouble. I tend not to read personal threads, so I don't know what's happening at the moment. OF COURSE I wish nothing but good will to everyone here - even those that I disagree with. ...I don't think Buddy and I have even argued about anything in the past, and I wasn't looking to start an argument this time. I was just just very curious about his views on those items. ...Certainly don't need an answer though - and definitely don't want to add unneccesary stress.

smurph,

Very easy question for me to answer.

If the bible said it, I believe it.

I could be the CEO of Jesus Camp.

Ted Haggard?

Disease, fraud?

Could be both.

Maybe one a little more than the other.

My focus right now, and hopefully forever, is Jesus Christ.

Pastors....Well, I'm going to another church service tonight at 7 EST and I'm going to listen to the same one I heard this morning at 11 AM.

Years ago, I remember hearing that Oral Roberts made a national announcement that if X number of people didn't accept Christ within the next 24 hours, he was going to climb and sit atop of a flagpole.

I love Oral Roberts.

So does Jesus.

I know.........we're all nuts.

Most everyone thinks so except Jesus.

another product of our leftist-modern western education system...... they can`t defend western civilization because they can't articulate what it is, and what little they do know they are taught to hate.......

read a guy named eric hoffer...he said that "a mass movement can exist without belief in a god, but never without belief in a devil.....the left and islam are united not in belief in the same god, but in hatred of the same devil"....

and that devil is the capitalist, judeo-christian west.....

you say brainwashed?.......lol

buddy,pay `em no mind....

Still watching the movie. This is a scarey thing going on. I knew about it before but to actually see it it is very chilling.

Not only do we have to get our country back from the neocons but now we have to get Jesus back too.

These terrible people have to be exposed. I believe in God and I believe in Jesus Christ but in no way do I think, even for a second, that these creeps represent my God.

Jesus will straighten it out. He's the Master. The King of the universe. He truly does not need our help.

Jesus Camp? Guerilla Warfare For Christ?

If they're planning on giving the kids a crucifix and an AK 47, then ehhh, maybe we need to pray a little harder.

When it's called for, Jesus knows full well how to chastise and correct.
