I also think that speaking in tongues is, for the most part, bunk. I'm not saying that it never happens, but I don't think the occurrence on every Sunday in particular churches is real.

But that is coming from a Catholic who makes up part of the three evil Cs (i'll ask my buddy for the other two) that many fundamentalists that I have met subscribe to. I was never aware that other Christian faiths had such hatred for Catholicism until a few years ago in my late twenties. I had heard all the jokes, but I take jokes for what they are.

Catholic here too, and my experience growing up in and around Catholic schools was sooooo different from evangelists, that I'm occasionally shocked.

Some of it is just another approach/strategy to getting our money. Different schticks loosen different peoples purse strings.

Mostly non practicing at this point, but the things I felt were emphasized were a respect for tradition, a strong moral compass in regards day to day human interaction, and service/charity.

I never felt the bible or heaven or hell were crammed down our throats (maybe it's just hindsight that makes me feel this way).

The only reason I say anything is because when you see videos like this you wonder if any of those things are important to evangelists (I honestly don't know, I'm that ignorant about that section of people).

Most everyone chooses not to subscribe to a faith until they face a time of great need.

Then...

In the blink of an eye...
