DODGERS/PIRATES Under 7.5 -110 - Jeff Suppan has been one of the most pleasant surprises in baseball to this point, as he is 4-0 with a 1.37 ERA and an outstanding 1.06 ratio. He has always had some nice stuff, and it was probably just a matter of time before he put things together, so his early season success just might not be a fluke. He has allowed exactly 1 earned run in each of his 4 starts, with all 4 outings lasting at least 6 innings. One problem he may have today is run support, which is why I feel that the Under is the way to go. The Pirates are hitting just .200 as a team vs. left-handed pitching at home this season. Granted, Ishii is still struggling with his control, issuing 13 walks in 22.2 innings, but he has minimized the damage by holding the opposition to just a .186 batting average, which helps explain his respectable 3.57 ERA. He is backed by what has been one of the best bullpens in baseball so far, as the Dodgers pen has a group ERA of 2.20 with an unbelievable ratio of 0.98 in 73.2 innings!
