the MLB uniforms with the stirrup socks? I thought they looked alot more classy than the current style of wearing the pants down to the shoe. When and why did they get away from this?

There are still several players that wear their pants with the sock showing, just not the stirrups. I too miss the look, but not the snap button pants...

I hate the look today with the pants that are so long they bunch up around the ankle. I prefer the old school look with stirrups actually showing.

Amazing to look at Ryan's picture and compare the body type to the flamethrowers of today.

I miss players who did it the right way.

It's funny you mention that. Recently I was watching ESPN classic and they were showing the 1983 world series with Baltimore and Philadephia. They were doing intros and the players were running out on the field.....They were introducing Baltimore and got to the 3,4,5 hitters....Singleton, Murray, and I think John Lowenstein and I was comparing them to today's hitters and they looked like puny high school kids in major league unis. As feared as Eddie Murray was, looking back he looked relatively small compared to guys today. Weird. John Lowenstein, their 5 hitter, looked so thin he looked like a stiff wind would blow him over.
