I was listening to the radio yesterday and it came up that some people were going to boycott ALL THE KINGS MEN because of several anti-Bush comments Sean Penn has made. Granted, the comments were pretty harsh, but I am curious if any of you conservatives out there share that belief that outspoken liberal actors should have their films boycotted.

there are a lot of liberal actors that irritate me with their comments, but it wouldnt keep me from enjoying their work. why would i deprive myself, just because i dont agree with them. alec baldwin is one who when starts talking politics i want to cringe, but have enjoyed alot of his movies and of course his saturday night live appearances. it would be silly to boycott for that.
Many hollywood personalities take advantage of the press they receive to push their agendas. If they have access and they truly believe in something, why not. I couldn't care less about these idiots and their opinions. I really dislike their liberal views on many things, not all, but they have an outlet for that and that is fine, I just dismiss it. I just wish they would really move to France when they say they will when a Republican wins. Other than that, I think Penn is a pretty talented actor and I wouldn't boycott his stuff, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
there are a few actors who I will boycot, but that's because I think they and their movies suck. I don't guess I have never missed a movie I wanted to see because some misguided idiot was in it. Nick, if one of your screenplays makes it to the bigtime, I'll go watch for sure even if the subject is something ridiculous like gay cowboys.

Penn did not go down there to 'help people', and of course he *didn't* help anybody. He went down there for 'tidbits' for a book that he plans/planned to write and he presumably will shop as a movie.
He slopped around in a rowboat with a cameraman and who knows if he got enough footage for some book that he was hoping for.
He reminds me of that reporter that was dramatically saying how deep the water/flooding was as she went down the street in a boat and then got out and it was ankle deep.
