WSU +19.5
WASH +12.5
SC +9
UCLA +10 (1ST HALF)

WSU +19.5 at Cal
Cal flat out doesnt beat anyone badly... htey struggled against cleveleand state and agaist san fran at home, bottom line they are a team that can beat a lot of teams, proabably anyone at home, but they also dont blow teams out.. wsu has no pressure on themselves, they know they wont make the pac-10 tourney os just go out and have fun... they cover

Wash +12.5 at Stanford
Whats worse than losing two straight overtime games to two teams that are tourney bound at home (zona,az st) following that with a road trip to stanford and cal. Washington's nick robinson is hte superior nick robinson in the game and is sparked the huskies to playing some great ball, next to doug wrenn these two have the dawgs playing well and need some victories to stay in the 8th spot in the pac for the last spot in the conferance tourney. Stanford is up and down but mostly are a team that plays tight games... take the 12.5

USC +9.5 at ASU
ASU does blow teams away, but getting 9.5 points for USC a team that beat ASU by a point earlier in the year in LA is ssomething I will take. Henry Bibbys and USC have won 5 striaght meetings in the series and are 9.5 point dogs at ASU. ASU is coming off a horrible performance but managed to win the game at washingotn but not cover. The problem I see for USC besides ASU superior depth is how long can ROry Oneil and Gregg Guenther stay out fo foul trouble agasint the monstor and Freshman of the year Ike DIogu? (He gets my vote over Carmelo ANthony becuae ASU would be lucky to be .500 withiut Ike,,, with Ike they are bascially a lock to go dancing for the first time in the Rob Evans era) Take the points here.,. I think ASU wins.. but a close game

UCLA +10 1ST HALF at Zona

UA is not a good 1st half team,, UCLA is coming off an actual SU victory at Georgetown last Saturday and people think they have turned the corner, i personally dont think they are talented enought ot run the table and win the pac 10 tourney and go dancing.. This game I can see Zona covering the 17 and actually trailing at halftim...ststrl will vouge for that we have seen it several times... play UCLA 1ST HALF

Nice write-ups. I concur with 3 of your selections (also like UCLA +17'), but I just don't see how you can make a case for Washington St. This is a team that has lost 11 straight and all but 2 of those losses (both at home) were by double digits. They've also demonstrated they are capable of being blown out, losing to ASU by 33 and 41 points. Cal already beat this team on the road by 13 and in their last 2 trips to Berkley, WSU has lost by 19 and 33.

I agree that Cal doesn't really blow teams out, but this is the 2nd best team in the Pac-10 imo and the best Bears team in years. With the season winding down and WSU sitting at 0-11 in Conf play, I can see this one getting ugly. I'm not suggesting a play on Cal, but I can't justify taking the Cougs in this spot either and sitting back and watching them get routed. Definate pass for me on this game.

Good luck and hope you don't mind me chiming in.

ASU -9

ASU -9

I haven't studied this game in depth yet. Leaning toward ASU though. SC got into a lot of bad habits late in the UNLV game -- Farmer was throwing no look passes all over the place & they overplayed the passing lanes on every pass. The Rebels hit 27/43 fgs when they were able to get the ball across midcourt. ASU, as you stated, played horrible on Saturday -- Diogu never got involved on offense and poor interior D almost cost them. I think the Devils improve in those areas tonight and the Trojans will have trouble hitting their shots on the road.

Bgold, I know you know alot more about West Coast and Pac 10
teams than I, and I value your opinions, But I have to go against
one play of yours. I like ASU tonight, I just think that after the Saturday debacle, they'll be focused and ready for some redeemtion, and I think -8.5 is a reasonable number to lay to USC.
Im probably wrong, but I gotta go with the Devils. Thanks for your
right-ups..Cabo...

Everyone in here I think knows how big of an ASU guy I am.. im an alum ofthe schooll and wathed or listened to everygame this year. Also they are a senior lead team with a sensational freshman and that should equate to success... however the USC play is based on Rob Evans squad losing 5 straight games to USC and even though asu missed a shot to win it early in the year... i think that 9 points is too much to give up, especially the way they have been shooting free throws

i alwayslike hearing other sides, thats the point of the forum, if you see both sides of a wager its easier to determine the best play... good luck

ASU starting small forward and teams far and away best defender and denior Donnell Knight was arrested last week for having unpaid parking tickets. Police came to his house after a windwo was broken in his apartment and did a search on his name and was then arrested,, this happened last week but came out to the public just today and Knight was a no show at practice on Wednesday.
I think he plays this game.. but if he doesnt ASU could lose its depth, Knight missed the Arizona game earlier becaause of an academic problem (not really his fault) and ASU really looked thin on the bench with DK out..
Bur then again that was before bench player Shawn Redhage emerged and scored 29 points in a road win vs UW on Saturday

CABO and MANSA great calls on ASU tonight,, they finally played to there potential which i have been waiting for them to do all year. I am confused as to why USC went with the press vs ASU becuase when SC beat ASU earlier it was that 1-3-1 zone that killed asu and has killed them all year. SC had been succseful with that press, but I cannot imagine why Bibby changed his game plan after beating ASU earlier. ASU did play there best on the offensive side of the ball and did play well definsively in the 1st half.. nice call guys
