Our dog acted drunk and would only walk while leaning against a wall. I wish we had video taped it.

Ugh... today might be the day. Maybe tomorrow, but I've had a feeling it was coming relatively soon so I'm not surprised. My old hound/lab mix Clara has been in pretty rough shape lately and things have gotten particularly bad in the last 12 hours. Taking her to the vet now to see if they can help her, but it may be time to let my friend of fifteen and a half years go

:( One of my dogs is getting really old too. I am trying to spend as much time with her as possible. She literally saved my life several times, and I will be devastated when she goes...

Thinking of you and Clara through this time.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts guys. I really appreciate it. We just got back from the vet, who said her vitals are all good. Her arthritis is really giving her a lot of pain so we upped dosage on the pain meds and added a new kind too. Gonna see how things go the next few days. Any more signs of decline and she's probably going to have to be put to sleep, but maybe the new meds, as well as lots of TLC and plenty of delicious homemade chicken and rice (maybe toss a little bacon in there, why not;)) will help perk her up a bit.

HH, is that your older dog in your avatar? Looks like the kind of dog we owned when I was a small child.

Yea - she is an ibizan hound/australian shepherd mix. She is CRAZY... in a good way, for me. She has been known to scare people from time to time :)
