I understand that Seau will be playing outside linebacker. Does he have any experience at olb, & does he have the speed to cover the backs or tightends on passing plays?

I lived in San Diego from between 1974 and 1989. I went to all the Chargers home games from 1978 to 1989.
Junior Seau was awesome. I still have 2 of his jerseys.
I now live in Las Vegas and I am much more impartial in viewing games and players. I still love Junior Seau. He is the most motivated, unselfish, and dynamic player ever.

However I had noticed a disturbing trend the last several years. I kept seeing TEs and running backs that he was covering, running at least 2 yards in front of him. This happened on a regular basis. He has been blaming it on ankle and foot problems, and some of that may be true. But the fact is, he never was known for his speed out of college and now he is considered "pedestrian". I wouldnt bet on him in a foot race with defensive linemen.

Dont forget, Junior has always played "balls to the wall". He started in grammer school, thru high school and college, and then the pros. THATS WELL OVER 21 YEARS. He is just wore out physically.

He might be able to play middle linebacker in a 3-4 where he could be a blitzing and run stopping LB. But the Dolphins dont use that. If he plays as an outside LB, expect to see TEs and RBs run freely in his area.

The Dolphins were 3rd in defense last year. The Chargers were 30th. Seau was one of the reasons.
Remember, his contract didnt run out, the Chargers let him set up a trade.

When he is on the field as a OLB he will be a liability.

As a Charger fan I have to say

As a Charger fan I have to say

Now I know that Miami has a San Diego Landmark now, but face the facts---Seau is worn out and isn't what he use to be. Over the past years productivity has declined at a steady rate and has made the pro bowl cause they fan sorry for him and my chargers---- NOT CAUSE HE DESERVED IT!!!! This past year Donnie Edwards did a way better job at backer than Seau, but he got no love cause he isnt as marketable of a player. On that Note I'm glad that my chargers got rid of Seau and especially Rodney (cheapshot) Harrison. Only time he ever got a real hit is when someone else had already gotten to him. San Diego is a better team because it got rid of it's old folks.

right!!!

San Diego was dead last in pass defense last year with Harrison and Seau.

This years defense will be MUCH faster.

Miami is giving Seau and the Chargers a way out of a potentially bad karma battle. I suspect the Chargers made a behind the scenes deal with Miami to take Seau. San Diego saved a LOT of money and a LOT of cap space.

I still have great feelings for Junior, but his time had passed.
