Not everybody started out with all the opportunities you had (I assume).

Exactly my point.

Look, we're all humans (yes, even the black ones are human, Kelly) and by definition not everybody is going to thrive or do things exactly how more 'productive' members of the human race might like.

I wouldn't worry too much about the pittance of our 'hard earned' money that goes to help other members of the human race.

There are a hell of a lot of other, more important things in life to worry about.

Kelly, on a better note. Have you ever been up to Austin Ranch in Plano? The sand volleyball is pretty competetive and the pools are amazing.

No, I haven't. I recall you mentioning that before. It's new, right? Sounds awesome!

As soon as you have a close relationship with an individual of a *race* in question, everything goes out the window. I used to be like y'all. Thank God that's over. Have fun with all that.;)

Yeah cause anyone that has a close relationship with another *race* can see that there are no double standards, right all enlightened one:rolleyes:

Imus played the 'stereotype' or 'profile' card. Whatever you want to call it.

His reference was that Pacman had been arrested 6 times because he was black. When in truth, he was arrested 6 times for being a moron.

Imus shoulda just said: OOPS, I'm sorry, I f'd up again. Instead , he tried to spin a web that Pacman is an unfairly targeted Black man.

It was truly funny that he said, " Yeah , maybe he did one thing wrong, but I doubt 6."

Dude was involved in a shooting that left a LV man paralyzed. For that alone, he should have done some time.

Finally, somebody hit the nail on the head in addressing this particular issue. Well said.

Weasel is also pretty much on point (which has been my point all along with the ongoing Imus sad-saga) that this should remain a business situation - in that it's up to the employer whether it's worth it to them to keep him on after making such comments. It's up to the listener whether or not to give him their time, too. Considering they hired him after his reprehensibly racist "Nappy Headed Ho's" comment, he'll probably survive this, too.

A couple more observations...I doubt he'll end up on satellite radio, especially if they merge, as Stern hates his guts, and Stern is the personality on Sirius that has the ear and admiration of the President of the company. Furthermore, from what I've heard, his ratings suck, which probably will make the biggest difference in his ongoing employment, or lack thereof. He's always been a racist, many reports of how he speaks of blacks around the office, both privately, and publicly. The "N" word has been tossed around by him a few times according to many stories, in direct conversation. So, the freedom of speech angle kind of misses the mark here, for me.

Jealous? How about fed up?

I guess 400 years of legal enslavement and discrimination may have eventually made blacks fed up too. I think I will go ahead and allow a generation or two of freeloading or whatever to pass before I become very "fed up". We are just a blip on a much bigger timeline.

OK, what is the *rule*?

Yeah, I love that line of thinking. "Blacks are lazy criminals ....but YOU'RE OK - you're the exception".
It's not a line of thinking, smurphy. Ever take a look at crime statistics? Blacks, in general, commit a disproportionate of crime. There's one rule for you. If you don't think there are statistically identifiable differences between the races, you're crazy. What you do with that information is another thing, but to refute the reality doesn't change it.

Pacman's response:

Pacman's response:

"I'm truly upset about the comments," Jones said. "Obviously Mr. Imus has problems with African-Americans. I'm upset, and I hope the station he works for handles it accordingly. I will pray for him."

I love it.

I will pray for him.
