We knew there would be plenty of changes for the Red Sox heading into 2016, but few anticipated that a major change would be coming to the television broadcast booth.

According to a report from WEEI?s ?Dennis and Callahan Morning Show,? this will be Don Orsillo?s final season as the play-by-play man for NESN?s Red Sox broadcasts.

Orsillo has called Red Sox games alongside analyst Jerry Remy for the last 15 seasons, including runs to World Series championships in 2004, 2007 and 2013. He previously served as the radio play-by-play man for Boston's Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox, for five years.

This is surprising. Orsillo is a pro, a very respected broadcaster. Heck, I think he works the playoffs for Turner Sports, like the Brewers guy does.

I cannot think of anyone they could bring in that would do better at play-by-play.
