I actually think a guy like Trump could be a formidable candidate in many ways. Have listened to him speak on political issues and he has a pretty solid outlook on things. Would make things interesting. - EOM.

Donald Trump eyes 2012 presidential run
By Agence France-Presse
Thursday, November 18th, 2010 -- 1:48 pm

Developer tycoon Donald Trump has his eyes on the United States' ultimate real estate: the White House.

Trump, the brash billionaire star of his own reality show, "The Apprentice," told ABC news he is seriously considering a run as a Republican in 2012 and could "easily" spend more than 200 million dollars of his own money.

"It could be fun because I'd like to see some positive things happen for the country. I'm going to make a decision probably by June," Trump told ABC's anchor George Stephanopoulos.

One principal policy as president would be to take on China's mighty economy, he said.

China is "getting away with murder" by manipulating its currency to US disadvantage, he said, calling the United States a "whipping post."

"The respect for this country is just not there," he said. "I have many people from China that I do business with, they laugh at us. They feel we're fools. And almost being led by fools. And they can't believe what they're getting away with."

This was not Trump's first trial balloon about a presidential run. He explored the idea in 1999.

If he did challenge for the nomination, he might well find himself up against another controversial character with her own reality show: former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin.

"I would take her on. I like her, but I'd take her on," he said.

The Donald is a turd, but given the other likely republicans - Palin, Huckleberry, Jindal, Jeb Bush, he might win the nomination.

"My turd stinks less than your turd.'

Or he might do a Meg Whitman, spend twenty times as much as anyone else, and lose anyway.

Gingrich will be the GOP candidate imo

Too much baggage, sleazy affairs, government shut down, etc.

I think Romney will be pick of the litter. The 'baggers will object, but mainstream Republicans can hold their nose for Mit.

If McCain had picked Romney instead of letting the far-far right push Palin, he might now be President.

I will vote for Trump if he runs. Not a big fan of his but i want a guy who is gonna stand up for these awful trade deals we have in place. The trade deals the rightwingers just love because it destroy's the middle class. Trump is a conservative who also likes his country. Trump knows he needs people working to make money. These other republicans couldn't give two dicks if people are working as loing as they have theirs. Can't wait for the debates and hear these neo-con jackoffs sticking up for these oil company profits and Trump letting them have it. Sticking up for these shitty no win money dumping wars and Trump says lets get the fuck out. Now if only the rednecks can get past their guns, gays, flags, and abortion, he might have a chance. Im in.

Gingrich rules out debates with MSNBC's Olbermann, Matthews
By: CNN Political Unit

(CNN) - If presidential debate organizers want former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to participate in their forums, they'll have to meet his stipulations.

"I would not participate if it was a hostile reporter asking 'gotcha' questions with a certain time limit," Republican Gingrich said on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" Sunday.

He said instead of participating in debates sponsored by the media, candidates should invite news outlets to cover their debates.

"There's no possibility that I would ever go to a debate and have (MSNBC's Keith) Olbermann or (MSNBC's) Chris Matthews asking questions," Gingrich said.

NBC News - the organization that employs Olbermann and Matthews - and Politico announced plans to host the first Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Library, sponsored by the Reagan Presidential Foundation in the spring of 2011. A host for the debate has yet to be announced.

"I'd be glad to do it at the Reagan library but without the kind of Mickey Mouse questions asked by hostile news media," Gingrich said.

He said he would rather have a dialogue about the issues between the candidates, and he referenced the series of three-hour debates between former President Abraham Lincoln and Sen. Stephen Douglas in the mid-1800s as a model.

Gingrich also reiterated his plan to announce his decision about a presidential run in 2012 in late February or early March of 2011.

Too many people will remember that Newt lead the charge against Clinton for getting a BJ, while Newt himself was banging his secretary.

After he dumped his wife for the skank, he left his family penniless and they had to beg for financial help from their church.

Gingrich - a Klass Akt.

They won't care Duff. The public just voted in the same assholes who put us in this giant hole to begin with. They gave a guy two years to get us out of something that might take ten. This country is loaded with a lot of stupid cock suckers. I wouldn't be surprised if another Bush wins again. People love misery. " Lets give Jeb a chance". Maybe that hunk of shit Neil. Why not? Daddy Bush destroyed the economy and the son was ten times worse. Why not Jeb? I bet Dogs and the rest of those nitwit rednecks would salivate to get a chance to vote for Jeb. One of the greatest mysteries in my lifetime is wondering how these neocon thinkers have such a big base. I said the first thing Obama should have done when he got elected was fix these election machines. Never even thought about it and they had total control. It wasn't enuf that Gore got fuked or the bullshit in 2004 that went on in Ohio. the democratic party is just sickening to stand behind.

I guess you're right Sponge. As Forest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does."

If he runs as an independent (or anything other than the two dominant parties) I will vote for him. He is slimy, but that puts him on a level playing field with the rest.
