As many of you all have, my wife and I have made donations already to two charities (Petsmart Charities and the Red Cross) to aid in the hurricane cleanup. However, I was hoping to put together some sort of madjacks effort to donate part of everyones winnings tomorrow night from the NFL Opener to the Katrina Cleanup. I would offer to match any donations up to $200 as part of our own additional donation to the above two charities (or others) and am seeking more like matchers to really boost the pot. I will keep track of the donations and post next week about the total madjacks donation.

Anyone that wins and emails me a copy of their winning ticket and then emails me a copy of their donation receipt, I will match that donation as part of my own donation, up to a total match of $200 total in addition to my own. If for some reason you are politcally against these two charities email me privately and I will ensure my donation and your match goes to another source that you designate. There is no political message whatsoever in this thread and I will keep it that way. There are enough other threads for that, this thread is about donating winnings to help out people and pets displaced by the Hurricane, thats all.

I will also be happy to just rally some people to donate their winnings or part of it from tomorrow nights game without me being involved in any way. Anyway, I know its a lot to ask and I know that most folks have already given in their own way as mentioned in several threads, just throwing out a line here and hoping to put something together in the next 24 hours.

Please get my email from Jack as he has agreed to let me post this. And anyone that wishes to join in as a matcher, I would welcome your participation.

Thanks everyone.

- Phil

Acehistr8, thats a noble effort on your part.

Being an animal lover, I have already made a cash contribution to a pet related charity. In addition, my g'friend is a 911 dispatcher and has spearheaded a drive resulting in donations that will require a very large truck to move. I have also sent pkgs.(as others here have) to a MadJack member who is relocated to TN.

So many people could use assistance, I appreciate your generous efforts of help....and so will the recipients.

God Bless those in need.....

I can be a cynical bastard sometimes as everyone here knows, but I cant begin to feel or understand what those who have lost family members must be feeling. And I cant even watch film of these little kids getting on buses saying goodbye to their dogs, or the woman who had to give up her two cats and leave them in a parking lot because they couldnt bring them with them to the dome. I've had pets my whole life and this just breaks me.

Thanks Jack, I appreciate it. And I know many others have already given so I thank them for what they've done in their own way.
