Everywhere I hear that the over is a great bet in the FLA/AZ game because both teams just played a ton of innings and their bullpens are worn down. TRUE....BUT the most important factor with all of the innings and the cross country travel for both teams is that they arent going to be as focused and rested as they should. Arizona came back from New York in one day, and Florida goes on the road cross country in one day.....these guys woudl love to take it easy for a day, and they dont get to.
Trust me....both of these pitchers shoudl look like Cy Young winners tonight. Reason being is reaction time. Tired Hitters are at a far more disadvantage then a tired pitcher. A pitcher can pitch effectively when a hitter doesnt have the pin point reaction time needed to hit major league pitching.
I dont believe Floridas pitcher Wayne was on the road with those guys yesterday either, so his lack of experience should be made up in the fact that he is rested. Dessens has always pitched well against the Marlins, and should have no problems here keeping them in check and handing the ball to a bullpen that has pitched very well over the last few games.
My plays...
Arizona -163
under 9.5 (+115)
Los Angeles -117
