to play a lot of UNDERS to start the season.
I see a lot of ppl on different forums taking all the UNDERs tonight...I dont think its wise.
Its a new season, but Vegas has these lines a little high for a reason.
I think you will see at least 2 OVERS tonight...ill post my OVER later.

GL.......Can't wait for NCAA Bball! :)

Looks like I hit that right on the head....3 OVERS/1 Under.

Just thought too many ppl were on unders yesterday.

Looking for a bunch more OVERS tonight.

dallas was as dead an under as there could possibly be last night. but of course, you handicapped the game going over in double overtime, lmao.

when a game with a total of 215 or 217..... has 180 points at the end of regulation, thats about as well-capped an under as youre gonna see.

true game scores:

philly-milwaukee: 204
vegas total: 200

denver-san antonio: 194
vegas total: 191.5

sacto-new orleans: 160
vegas total: 191.5

dallas-phoenix: 180
vegas total: 217

if youre objective about it, it's 2-2 O/U with the 2 overs barely going over and the 2 unders going way under

if the phoenix game went over in regulation, the thread bump and the "looks like i hit that right on the head" post might make some sense. but 90-90 at the end of regulation?

if thats hitting totals right on the head, remind me not to play darts with you or allow you to ever hold a hammer and nails at the same time.

The games went over and that was the point.....everyone was on the UNDERS and look what happened.Of course,I didnt expect it to go into 2 OTS,but the simple fact is that it did.

You are starting to be a joke on here Gman, everytime you lose you say, well I had it capped right but it went into 2 OT's or whatever other lame excuse you have.......I dont know about you but I bet to WIN not to say i capped them right, but lost.

Stick to your MAC football...hehehehe.

irish:

frankly youre not even making sense. you can probably count on two hands the number of plays that have been posted here this season. and all of them have been decided well before the final gun sounds.

right now youre just spewing utter nonsense.

i dont even post enough plays here to have dumb shit happen.

to even dignify your "anytime you want to see who is better" comment is just not worth another keyboard stroke on the computer. seriously. you should consider a self-imposed one-week ban just for your ignorance.

"everyone was on the unders and look what happened" :jerkit:

we already did look what happened.

philly went over by 4 in regulation.
minnesota went over by 2.5 in regulation.

sacto went under by THIRTY ONE in regulation
dallas went under by THIRTY SEVEN in regulation

if youre counting on double-overtime to win your bets, then
you simply are a poor handicapper.

btw wareagle, shut your hole too before lucky irish challenges you to a contest.

Gman- All Im saying is if you don't like my picks or advice thats cool...no problems there...just don't be an ass about it.

I can tell you that i have seen you on numerous occassions pick something then when it doesnt come in,you have some excuse for why it didn't...you dont see that from me.
I dont have to prove anything to you as I think I do very well.
Good Luck.

lucky:

thanks for adding some levity to my day. this could be one of the funnier threads ive seen in awhile here.

frankly, i just throw darts. i have no clue what im talking about when it comes to handicapping.

shit, i just learned that a field goal in basketball is only worth 2 points in basketball. i always thought it was worth 3. maybe thats where ive been going wrong.

best of luck.

as for your "picks and advice", when or why would i have a problem with them? i just found the thread bump to say "looks like i hit that one right on the head" to be rather funny. thread bumpings really not my thing. but its a small request that when they are bumped, at least do it when you peg the games correctly. youve hit your share of good plays. but for godsakes, dallas in double OT wasnt one of them.

Personally I don't see any reason for the criticism here:

Lucky was right 3 overs did hit, I don't care if the Dallas game went 10 overtimes it is the final score that counts and cash.

Lucky hang in there bud and keep capping the way u have been and good luck tonite.

Sorry couldn't write a 3 page explanation for this.

I don't see the big deal here. I thought everyone finally understood that when you play a football, hoops, baseball, or hockey game OVER and it won, common courtesy is to search for LI's daily thread and thank him for "capping" the game you won that went OVER the total.

this thread somehow, someway has taken on a life of its own.

maybe its me, but when i win a game on a hail mary, a backdoor 3-pt shot, or a total that goes into multiple overtime, or something along those lines, im almost sheepish to accept congrats on it.

im not a big thread bumper regardless. but im always sheepish to bump a thread if i win on somethin fluky.

case in point- when i posted st.louis over the astros in game 6 of the nlcs.

did i win my bet because of any good capping by me?
fu.ck no.
i was just fortunate to have albert pujols on my team and at the plate and lidge imploded.

i guess im not afraid to objectively criticize my own plays.
i was NOT on the right side of that game, and i won.

99 times out of 100, lidge slams the door.
2 outs and nobody on. 2 strikes on eckstein. and he allows a single, then a walk, then a bomb to pujols.

yeah- just the way i capped it.

like i said, this thread got drawn out far longer than it should have.

but that doesnt mean i dont stand behind what i posted.

i dont see why people get so offended and defensive when it comes to critiquing their own plays.

it can only make you a better capper.

if i go 3-1, im more concerned about where i went wrong on the 1 loss than i am about patting myself on the back for 3 wins.

maybe its the perfectionist in me.

because the last thing i want to do is give my money back to the books somewhere down the road because i got complacent and thought just because i won a bet, that meant i capped it right.

i know the nba forum is a real close knit fraternity where everyone pats each other on the back and says "great job slugger" when a bet wins.

i didnt mean to rock the boat.

frankly, i dont bet but a few nba games a month, and i certainly wont be playing any nba until at least december.

but for the life of me, its puzzling how sensitive guys are sometimes.

like i said, maybe its the perfectionist in me that is never satisfied. i want to stay sharp and on top of my game so the man doesnt get a free shot at my money.
