Prez Iverson got a raw deal around here because it was the front office that failed to build around him and they had their shot time and time again. They blew it and blame it all on Iverson. I knew people in Colo would fall for him. He gives it all every night. You can't say that about many of the other NBA players.

I've been a huge Ivy fan for a long time. When he was in Philly we would go to see him play when he came to Denver every year. I couldn't believe it when they actually traded for him. Philly front office never gave Ivy a fair shake when he was there. The best players he played with were like Derrick Coleman, Keith Van Horn, a broken down C-Webb. Erik Snow as PG who could be the worst offensive PG in the history of the NBA. They even got rid of Larry Hughes and then he went a blew up down in DC. Being a Philly fan must take a few years off of your life or something

Seems like these days 10yrs is a stretch. Unless your name is Lebron, Wade, Yao, Duncan or Anthony, and maybe not even them.

Look at Kobe, he wants out, KG wants out, and Mike Connelly can only dream of being as much of an impact player as any of them.

Even Shaq, the most dominant center of his time has played for 3 different teams. Iverson got traded, Ray Allen has played for numerous teams, as has T-Mac, Nash, Jermaine O'Neal and even Dirk.

There certainly are the exceptions like Duncan, like Pierce. But Pierce has almost been traded a few times.

they do play two different positions, but i am referring to brewer's def ability.

also, i am not sold on conley - i was hoping somone here is.

Elvis if im drafting a team i want a defensive stopper which is hard to get. That is why i like Brewer so much and im sick about hearing about his range because to me it looks fine. Its a joke they are even giving him this label unless they want him to shoot from half court. I also want a guy like Law who wants the ball at the end of a game. I cant comment much on Memphis back court because i havent watched them that much. Im not to sold on Conly either. He is still young tho.

I can't believe Glen Davis is still there and the Sixers take a project who is already 21 years old and not ready. There must be some major baggage with Davis that everyone is running from him.

Bobcats send Wright to Warriors for Richardson
June 28, 2007

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Charlotte Bobcats traded No. 8 draft pick Brandon Wright to the Golden State Warriors for swingman Jason Richardson and the rights to Jermareo Davidson.

The 6-9 Wright played just one season at North Carolina, averaging 14.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and a team-leading 1.8 blocked shots.

"Golden State really fits my style of play and I'm excited," Wright said. "I feel great about the situation I'm coming into. I'm excited to get to play the best type of ball that you can play, spread it out, 1-on-1, make a lot of plays and show what you can do."

Richardson 16.0 points and 6.7 rebounds during the regular season and scored 19.1 points in the postseason in 2006-07.

Davidson, a 6-11 forward out of Alabama, averaged 14.0 and 8.2 rebounds for the Crimson Tide this past season.

76ers deal G Koponen to Blazers for Byars and cash
June 28, 2007

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Philadelphia 76ers selected Petteri Koponen with the 30th and final pick in the first round of Thursday's NBA draft. But they then dealt him to the Portland Trail Blazers for the rights to No. 42 pick Derrick Byars and cash considerations.

The 76ers took promising young forward Thaddeus Young with the 12th pick and, with the 21st, selected guard Daequan Cook.

Philadelphia then traded Cook to the Miami Heat for its the 20th selection, Colorado State center Jason Smith. The Sixers also sent a second-round pick in 2009 and cash to the Heat.

Koponen impressed NBA scouts when he seamlessly led the group of young international stars at the Nike Hoop Summit. He got the team into its offense, made sure players were in the right spots and made simple passes without turning the ball over.

Koponen is young and he hasn't yet played against the top-level competition in Europe. He has shown poise handling the ball against his peers (college-age players), but he has yet to play against NBA point guards who will test him at every turn.

But Philadelphia now will get Byars, who should provide help at both shooting guard and small forward for with a polished offensive repertoire and mixes the athletic with the crafty.

The Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, Byars was Vanderbilt's leading scorer at 17 points per game. He also led the Commodores in field goal percentage (.457), free-throw percentage (.711) and was second on the team in 3-point percentage (.373).

curious pick speculation..where will he go??

Morris Almond 6-6, 215, Rice

OVERVIEW: The third-leading scorer in the nation (26.4 ppg), Almond was named Conference USA Player of the Year. He scored over 30 points on 10 occasions and had a pair of 40-point games, including a career-high 44 vs. Vanderbilt. Almond was outstanding from the arc with a .456 shooting percentage and a superb free-throw shooter, making 241 in his senior season and converting them at an .846 clip. Despite averaging just 4.8 and 7.2 points, respectively, in his first two seasons, he finished as the school's fourth all-time leading scorer. Almond also contributed on the boards, averaging 6.6 per game as a senior.

LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: 16-23

COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Allan Houston

COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Courtney Alexander

ROLE PROJECTION: Zone-busting 3-point shooter; eventual starting shooting guard.

POSITIVES: Almond has excellent physical characteristics - size, strength and just enough quickness - to eventually be a very successful shooting guard in the NBA. Despite playing on a mediocre team where he was targeted as the player to stop, he ranked third in the nation in scoring. He often shot the ball right in the face of a defender from long range and hit. His ability to get by his defender off the dribble and either draw a foul or finish is underrated.

SHORTCOMINGS: They are hard to find. Almond's work ethic is unquestioned, as he worked his way from being a marginal recruit and role player in his first two seasons to one of the nation's leading scorers. Perhaps after being the centrifugal force of his team's offense, Almond will have an adjustment to make as he once again starts out as a role player in the NBA. He's also never faced the pressure of big games, since so little was expected at Rice.

The Jazz took Rice guard Morris Almond with the 25th pick in Thursday's draft.

Almond may be the best pure shooter in the draft and the Jazz were looking for someone to give them an outside presence. With Gordan Giricek reportedly on the outs in Utah, Almond could see plenty of action next season.

Now i think Boston even up that deal and jumped ahead. I hope since this kid got drafted this late it puts a chip on his shoulder. He lost guaranteed money. I think his weight is a huge concern to people but he says he is hiring a chef aka nutritionist. We shall see.

Two picks i like are what the lakers got to get rid of that stiff Smush Parker the kid from GTand i like the kid from UCLA that Detroit got Affalo. Also another guy pointed out why did Memphis take Conly instead of Brewer. Memphis took a point guard last year. Why do it again when you could have had a shut down two guard who could shoot also in Brewer:shrug: Hey IE i was just wondering. I remember several years back on another site a guy would bring up one team at a time (in the NFL) and it would say something about the team. Then everyone would throw there two cents in. Have you ever come across somethingsee like that. I didn't read the NFL boards untill it got inside the season last year, so you might have even done it here. Just wondering.

He not a scorer. That's what they needed. Wouldn't be surprised if Pax moves him. I don't like his game or his attitude. It works in college, but not in the pro game.

guys turning out to be an aweful pick

got suspended for one recently for not running the plays correctly during a closed practice

Either cuz he doesn't know them or doesn't want to run them. Then decided to have a monster blowup at an assistant that called him out on it. It seemed he said all the right things after that and it was a dead issue. Then the head coach decided to extend his suspension cuz he's late all the time and he still doesn't get the idea of being a pro. His attitude is brutal.

All this as the Bulls are doing everything they can to just make the playoffs this year. All this as Deng is out and they can't get anything inside.
