Where it is real F ing COLD
Maybe it is the way the season ended. Vikings Sucked, Packers Great that I am not really looking forward to any of this shit. Maybe it is because it is Thursday Night or maybe the lockout shit has made it bad. Or maybe what is happening down south, country in general and gas prices. At any rate I was planning a night out with the guys and they said yeah that would be great. "Where should we watch the draft?" I was like, Oh yeah it is draft night.

I guess my team needs in importance...

O - Line: The left side is aging and the center and right side is abysmal. You have Adrian Peterson dumb fucks, it would be nice to see him get a hand off and not get immediately hit as soon as he gets it. AP has good numbers but he would get 2000 if he had a line.

QB- I don't know. reports are Locker Mallet, or the TCU Q who I like but can't remember his name. They can get him without using a number 1.

DB- Winfield is solid but the rest suck from safetys on down. I mean horrible. Griffin is good but always hurt, Spent a high pick on Cook at Db last year but he was hobbled.

D line- Pat Williams will be gone. Edwards at D end most likely gone and Kevin Williams getting older. They do have depth but not starting depth. Decent fill in players.

Projection:

Hope they get an O linemen then get TCU QB later in draft. I would like a late round pick on a fullback with potential. Tahi they have sucks.

Vikes will try like hell to trade down to make up for 3rd round pick they lost in Moss deal. Vikings historically do well with first round picks but ALL of their later round picks will not be on the team in 3 years as this has ALWAYS been the case. That is why the team has acquired a ton of players over free agency over the years. Scott Studwell was a great player for the Vikes but how the hell he still leads the scouting team with all the shit fucking picks from the 2nd round on is beyond me?

Well enough of the rant I got into. Happy Draft Night to all. At least I will get drunk.

I would take him. Every media outlet around here thinks the Vikes are trading down. But what the hell do they know. A ton of teams are looking to trade down and I dont know what teams will offer to move up. Instead of picks I wish the Vikes would try to get an established player when trading down. They fuck up 3rd and 4th round picks anyway

Im under the impression that teams cannot trade players, only able to trade picks.

Anyone confirm?

Trying to scratch up a few dollars while watching the draft/drinking beer/eating pizza.

The Carolina Panthers will select from a group of four players with the first overall pick in Thursday's NFL draft, according to Sal Paolantonio of ESPN.com.

The Panthers are said to be considering quarterback Cam Newton, defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, cornerback Patrick Peterson and wide receiver A.J. Green with the pick.

The report states that Newton, Auburn's Heisman winner, is the odds-on favorite to be the Panthers choice.

Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said that the team is keeping all of its options open.

Im not sold on Cam, if this was Andrew Luck, then its a lock but Newton isnt a clear overall #1. Dont care how many mocks have it as such, its not law. Peterson and Dareus are safer picks and with the new defensive minded HC, might be the way I cash my first bet.

Cam Newton draft position over 1? +400* vs Cam Newton draft position under 1?

206 AJ Green draft position under 4? -170* vs AJ Green draft position over 4? *** Max bet

Jake Locker drafted first -120* vs Mark Ingram drafted first

I believe that Locker is the 3rd QB off the board and dont see any teams running up to the podium to grab Ingram before the mid to late 20s. By that time there might be 4 or 5 QBs already selected.

When the QB run starts, teams will be scrambling. Pretty easy bet on someone who was considered #1 overall a year ago.

I posted my thoughts on the Ponder pick in the other thread. I agree in large part with your assessment about the Vikes needs, BP, but I'm confortable with the pick. We'll see how it shakes out. I think you guys have a good argument against, but it makes sense in many ways in my opinion.
