I got in a pool where you draft 8 players and the team with the most accumulated points wins. I know some of the bigger name players, anyone know some players on sleeper teams that may make it to the sweet 16 or elite 8 that I should maybe draft?

not sure I understand the contest (do you get more points for a #8 seed winning than you would a #1 for example?). More info please.

6-5 , sounds to me like he creates his OWN team of 8 players (by means of a draft) and it is those players individual stats that will give him points.

I would suggest filling out your bracket. Once you have your Final Four, I would draft the two star players off of each of those teams.

I am not sure if this is a draft or you can construct your own team (i.e. multiple teams can have the same players). If it is the latter, then the above philosophy may work. If you are actually drafting players, then I would alter my approach.

I would still have the above 8 players as the first 8 entries on my draft board. Then the next 8 would be a combination of the 2 top players from the other 4 Great 8 teams and maybe the second tier players from your Final Four. you could continue working a draft board in this pattern until you were comfortable with the number of players that you have listed.

I have been in these before......Really fun.

It's better to get a guy that is the number 3 scorer on an elite 8 team rather than a top scorer on a team that will be one and done..........

Check out the USA Today tomorrow, it will give a complete run down of each team and their lineups and scoring averages. It's a great cheat sheet. :yup

Correct you draft 8 players There are 12 people in the draft and the draft will go 1-12 and snake back. I don't know what pick I have, I should know tomorrow and the draft is Wed.

I will have to pick up the USA Today tomorrow then, thanks.

can't u just figure out what team you want and then, even if the good players on a team are taken - say everybody wants Illinois.?Well, you just take some bench warmer that plays for Illinois, right? Can you pick 2 players from the same team?

You draft Players and you get thier points scored until thier team Loses. So you want to draft a mixed team, perferably different players from the four corner, so they don't take each other out. Hopefully you have at least four Players left at the final four.

Thank you, I suppose I was being dense. He typed "points" in his original post, but I was somehow equating that to you get a point for each round you progress through (duh! on me).

c2069, as my best sleeper, I would take either Garcia, Dean, or O'Bannon in that order from Louisville. UofL is going places this year even though I can't stand the program and the coach. Save that pick toward the end, it should still be there.

Take Head, Brown, or Williams from Illinois.

Take Stoudameire from Arizona (or Frye if you can't get him).

Take Morrison or Turiaf from Gonzaga.

Take Simien for Kansas or Boone, Anderson, Villanueva for UConn (depending on who you like to win that game as I think they will make it far enough to play each other).

Take May or Jawad Williams from UNC.

I would take Hakim Warrick. I think they're going to knock off Duke, and I love his game and point scoring ability.

Lastly, take a UK guy. I would pick Patrick Sparks. He's proven he's a money player in the big games. Azubuike would also be good.

Sorry I didn't understand your original post, and good luck with your draft picks.
