Peter Hanson to beat Graeme McDowell +100 @ Paddy Power
Opposing McDowell for who fatigue must be a factor. Not only will this be his seventh straight week of tournament golf, but this seven-week schedule has seen him start in Spain, then fly to China, then to Singapore, then to Japan, then to China, then to South Africa, and now to the United Arab Emirates. Hanson will make a strong opponent - he finished 3rd in the Hong Kong Open last week and in his last four starts in Europe, he has finished 9th, 6th, 11th and 10th. With top-15 finishes in each of the two years of this event here, Hanson should certainly be a player to back in match bets this week.

I was more or less ready to go with my plays on Thursday (Wednesday night here), and as is often the case with European Tour events in the desert, I was able to find plays with reasons that had me feeling pretty good about landing some players in the mix . . . Then taking care of business in other areas of real life took precedent, and when I got around to getting back to a computer, I was sorry to see I was late by about 40 minutes past the off.
With a season ending event I plan on following on television, with a season of rhythms and speculations (i.e., INFORMATION and ANGLES) to tap into, I decided I'd just make the plays I would have made, and see what happens.

Surprised to be able to back the World #1 at plus odds. He started slowly in this event and has admitted to being nervous, but he played much better today and his run of three birdies to finish his round puts in him a very good position to complete the Trans-Atlantic money title double. Westwood has admitted on Twitter that his game is 'not firing on all cyclinders' and that may be expected after winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge last week. I can't see him matching Donald tomorrow.

Lawrie eagled the last hole to himself into 2nd place and in the last group for the final round, whereas Lowry is three places back in 5th place. However, there is a big difference in the form between these two and that should have an effect upon how these two deal with the final round pressure: whereas Lowry has finished 4th, 13th and 3rd in his last three starts, Lawrie's last top-10 finish was over six months ago. I just can't see him playing as well tomorrow.
